To set up a design, you can use their wizard, which uses a question and answer approach. If you are more of a do-it-yourself type, they still offer guided screens for whatever type of design you think you want to use. For analysis, Design Expert also has a guided approach. The left side of the screen has a vertical arrangement to allow you to progress from simply plotting, to analysis, to optimization. In the analysis section, you have a series of tab across the top of the screen to guide you through selecting the model, analyzing the model, diagnosing the analysis and finally creating summary plots. I can only describe the approach that Design Expert uses as very "linear". Some people can feel overwhelmed by packages that have a lot of option buttons. Design Expert has plenty of options, but they are not intimidating or intrusive. > > **Cons**: The graphics could be better.
