Simple, efficient – where were you 20 years ago!?

Comments: I came on board to take a small not-for-profit and expand it nationally. Board Pro instantly solved what could have been weeks of designing a governance system. Each month we save hours of administrative work.

Pros:

Board Pro replicates the board governance process that I have used for years. Everything in one place, board packets are easy to produce and modify. Board members are able to use the files as they wish – online or download the PDF. I love the fact that the formatting is automated. Board Pro saves at least four hours of administration time setting up the board packet. The price point makes it easy to decide to go with the software. It is without peer.

Cons:

Small and responsive, the team at Board Pro seemed to anticipate any improvements I could ask for. Impressively, they routinely ask for feedback and ideas.

BoardPro: One Year In and Going Strong

Comments: It is a lot of work to prepare meaningful board and committee meetings, BoardPro alerts our members in advance, and provide the opportunity for pre-meeting review of supporting documents. When in the board meeting they are able to access the meeting and documents on their laptops, and follow the discussion in real-time. It allows for deeper board engagement, their eyes are no longer glossing over from an abundance of paper packets and content.

Pros:

Ability to organize board meetings with supporting documents for each committee's report.

Cons:

Would like to be able to create a MASTER board meeting or committees' meeting, and then enter a recurring date range, or enter custom dates and have the software duplicate and repeat for the entire calendar year.

Comments: Easy to use, easy to figure out, and if in doubt you have an assistant to help you.

Pros:

It creates the Agenda for me. So easy and able to drop the files in.

Cons:

probably the font, and the overall look. Quite hard on the eyes, feel like it could be outlayed differently.

Interface experience

Pros:

good interface, easy to follow up on actions

Cons:

Bit slower sometimes, also suggest attractive design

Comments: Easy billing, available extras like free continuing education programs on governance, and while they have higher paid programs they do not try to upsell you. Customer support is available through text. Note that they are an Australian company, so there are some word-spelling differences ("organisation" vs "organization") and their regular business hours are not convenient to Americans, but this is a minor inconvenience and actually something I like about them.

Pros:

BoardPro is the most affordable of all the board portal programs. It is a bit more bare-bones than some other programs, but it fits our needs and does so for a fraction of the cost. It keeps tracks of meeting schedules, agendas, and added documents for review. Our Board members are able to access the information for the meetings, and the system sends them reminder notifications automatically. The program works well for us.

Cons:

It is a bit more bare-bones than other software, so aesthetically there are a few things I would change but they are insignificant. The thing that I like least is that there are a couple of programs that are available for an upcharge that I would like to be included in the basic program. The one that I would most like included at the basic rate is the add on that allows Board members to vote online.
