Reviews of Hotjar

Power Tool for User Experience Optimization
Comments: Using Hotjar with my team and across the company has enabled us to make data-driven decisions, leading to optimized resource allocation and increased profitability.
Pros:
Hotjar can handle massive datasets and traffic, enabling granular user segmentation. Its seamless integration with other marketing tools provides deep insights into user behavior, allowing you to identify large-scale patterns and continually improve user experience.
Cons:
I've been very satisfied with this tool and haven't experienced any negative aspects.
Really interesting to see what user really do
Comments: We use hotjar when we launch a new feature or when we need improve some interface. It's really fun to see user action.
Pros:
Easy to set up. Useful to see what our user do on website or application. Possibility to start hotjar on event. The heatmap allow us to see some unclickable zone. Possibility to add notes on recording.
Cons:
It's not a problem with hotjar, but when we start to recording user action, we have a lot of recording to analyse. But always intersting to see what our users really do.
Tracking is constantly failing
Pros:
Just the fact of being able to record heat maps.
Cons:
Our account has been constantly going on and off with an alert about the tracking not being properly implemented. Later, without having changed anything seems to be resolved. It's been like this for 2 weeks now.
Comprehensive analytics
Comments: Combines qual and quant data, allowing businesses for experimentation and ultimately, optimisation. Excellent tool, highly recommend.
Pros:
Initially used it as part of green field platform launch - really helped us understand user behavior (via heatmaps, session recordings, conversion funnels), which is always useful, but particularly crucial this early on in the product lifecycle. Integration and use can be done by most non-techies, which gave us time and space to focus our engineers where it really mattered. Surveys are also available (though should be used sparingly as we quickly learned too many can also be annoying for the customer :d).
Cons:
not really a con, but performance is something to consider when integrating
Super in-depth website analytics tool
Comments: Straightforward tool to get setup and running, helps sell changes internally using data (e.g. how visitors actually use our websites).
Pros:
In-depth tools to monitor visitor usage on our website, helps provide data for us to make decisions!
Cons:
Would love to see more automated insights on the products - sometimes you end up setting up a number of tools but never find the time to assess them.
