Reliable backup product, excellent support
Comments: so far I have no complaints or doubts
Pros:
ease deployment fast and qualified support, meaning that issues were sorted out right away (in my case via dial in)
Cons:
somewhat pricy very detailed log files, sometimes it may be hard to find the root cause
Alternatives Considered:
Excellent and reliable backup software for Windows to restore your system and data
Comments:
From my standpoint it is the most reliable backup software I've ever used.
It restores your complete system not just your data.
Now they just need to fix the licensing issue which can be problematic particularly with the home version.
Pros:
I was using another product to backup Windows some 5 years ago which was never reliable in restoring backups. There would be intermittent blue screens whenever you plugged in a USB external drive while it was doing its 30–60-minute backup. With Macrium Reflect there has never been an issue with reliability of backups. It has improved from version 7 to the recent release of X in speed of backup to the point I can backup and verify a 100 gb C drive in less than 5 minutes (using USB4). It can restore your system, from scratch, in just a few minutes more. It can create a Windows PE bootable USB to restore, backup or fix boot problems with Windows
Cons:
Paramount Software has instituted, like many software vendors, a yearly licensing fee which has its quirks, and the pressure will be on them to either develop another product or make it worth the user's money to pay yearly in order to upgrade with each release. In my view access to their excellent support is worth that fee.
Please tell me :What am I missing ?
Comments:
Please see above. as an added addendum. After I cloned with the other software. I once again tried "Reflect". I received the same GD error code 9. I went with Reflect because I did a ton of research on it before I downloaded and installed. I mean.... a TON.
I'm baffled as to why Reflect fails and the others work.
Pros:
Easy install, GUI was simple and easy to follow
Cons:
As stated above the install and setup for cloning was easy, simple and quick. But that's as far as it went. I received an error 9 code. OK, no big deal, Right ?!? Well.... I tried every fix and troubleshooting technique. Nothing worked. Spent nearly 2 days-researching, reading , watching every possible scenario that would cause this particular error. Used every method to attempt to remediate my situation. I even used a 3rd party software(pro version). No errors could be found on the drive....yet I kept getting an error 9. So......What am I missing ? here's the kicker guys........... I finally gave up and tried a different cloning software. And guess what........ It went without a hitch. Cloned on the first attempt. So.... I ask again..... What am I missing here ?

Pretty Essential for Managing & Maintaining Your PCs
Comments: I regard it as an essential element of running & maintaining several PCs. It is much better than the prior backup provider (Nova), and serves the entire PC - Windows included - where data-oriented backups (e.g. OneDrive, Google, Norton) don't cut it.
Pros:
It is a pretty rock-solid backup platform that covers you with file-level, disk-level and pre-boot backup & restoration. It has saved me quite a number of times from difficult situations. For example, I have a couple of programs (including Macrium) that occasionally lose their key settings files on one of my computers. If I can't restore in a simpler way, I can restore the last good copy from a backup with a minimum of fuss, seeing & even opening the file(s) in question before restore. Macrium is also very useful in preparing a new HDD/SSD for use by copying whole disks or partitions. Lastly, there is occasional crapware that does something to my system that I can't figure out. Typically, the easiest solution is to simply restore from a backup a day, a week or sometimes a month prior. Viola! Problem solved.
Cons:
Their new X version is a subscription based service that is now expensive. I prefer to buy my software. Getting thru to support is often a futile effort. Support has its own site, but their system doesn't recognize my credentials and I never received the reset key. Emails to their sales department about the issue are just ignored. At the moment, I can't obtain the support I paid for. In the past, when I was in contact with support, they would too often deny the reality of the issue I faced (and still face) such as the settings files disappearing.

For future reference, you can obtain support without going through the system by emailing [email protected]. This will create a ticket for you. Failing that, my personal email is attached to this review. Also, we do offer a perpetual version for business through our LTSC licensing program, this is ideal for customers who purchase larger or regular volumes need a one-time license, security critical updates only, and option of a 3 or 5 year support package.

A system we rely on
Comments: Very good. For our money, the best on the market. Priced very reasonable and competitive. Wouldnt recommend it to casual users - simply to complicated to use.
Pros:
does what it says, seems reliable and stable, have used it for business critical restores succesfully. Flexibel, overall the best solution we have tested and implemented.
Cons:
Confusing interface, things not organized intuitively, you really have to use it regularly to remember how to do stuff. The warning about purging before a backup is not secure enough, Its way to easy to accidentially do an unintended purge, that needs to be made more secure.
Alternatives Considered:
Good, reliable and secure image and backup software
Comments: Overall, I am very satisfied with Reflect. Since I also use the site manager, managing my computers is easy and very reliable. On top of that, I'm glad that the software doesn't require a cloud. I want to be able to save my backups locally without any cloud constraints. This works very well with Reflect (also with the SiteManager).
Pros:
The software is very reliable and has never let me down.
Cons:
The Windows PE environment is not so easy to understand for beginners and is somewhat confusing. It would be desirable to simplify the user interface (Acronis is better in this respect).
Macrium Review
Comments: I am a developer. My work in progress is always at risk on a local laptop. Even though we have good source control and production data is safe, if my laptop fails it can be a major irritation. Being able to quickly restore a machine to what it was this morning mitigates that. I have a rotation of daily, weekly, and monthly backups on Macrium. Disaster has not yet struck, but I am ready.
Pros:
Setup is easy, and operation is not overly intrusive
Cons:
Just the fact that I have to backup at all; that there is a risk that my machine will need restoring, is the worst part.

First Class Software
Comments:
It has always been a rock solid backup utility, I use it for all our PC's either through Reflect Workstation or via Macrium Site Manager for remote recovery.
If a PC is trashed or a new HD installed then the Rescue media on a USB stick can always do the job.
Pros:
Simple answer, It has not yet let me down in restoring a backup to a PC or server when it has been necessary to do so. Also being able to mount a backup as a drive to access files without having to do a restore is a big plus point.
Cons:
Nothing comes to mind, the only annoyance can be when an update or fix comes through, occasionally a reboot is required. Not really a dislike and just an observance.

Great Backup Software
Comments:
Excellent experience, thank you!
Backups can be mounted as volumes and explored with File Manager. Perfect!
Pros:
Comprehensive backups that are easy to manage.
Cons:
Some complicated workflows for large network or power users, however the tech support and documentation are great!

Pros:
All possible options to schedule backup.
Cons:
I think it would be be good to offer an optional simplify user interface.
Macrium Reflect Workstation review

Pros:

none
Excellent Product.
Comments: We use it almost daily in our service department
Pros:
Very easy to use and it clones Windows 11 drives with ease, will let you resize partitions on the fly with the clone process.
Cons:
It would be nice if they added a file backup option for local drives then this would be perfect for home users as well.

Hi Marc, Have you tried reaching out to our Support team? As you can see from the reviews here, Macrium Reflect is widely praised for how it works so well. I'm sure if you contact me or support we can get these issues resolved quickly. Thank you for your review.
Technician backup solution
Comments: It’s been great. My needs are simple. I don’t use it for enterprise-wide backups, deployments etc. I just need it to clone the hard drives of company equipment running Linux and occasionally backup my laptop. Runs great and is easy to use. I’ve convinced others on my team to use Macrium as well.
Pros:
Ease of use without having to learn a complicated clone program with a zillion options only an expert would understand.
Cons:
No cons at all!
Great Tool for anyone working in IT Field
Comments: If you work in IT this software set is gonna provide you with everything you need to restore/backup & support user devices. I also use it personally and I am very happy with it.
Pros:
Using the rescue medium to quickly make a copy of the existing partition and restore it on another device is very easy to work with.
Cons:
The interface could need a little facelift.
Popular backup and disk imaging software for Windows-based systems
Comments: Only positive emotions! The system has never let me down and I have never had any compatibility issues with this software
Pros:
Fast imaging with ease of use. It provides options for creating bootable rescue media (USB or DVD) that can be used to restore your system in case it becomes unbootable.
Cons:
At the end of 2023, support for the free version of Macrium Reflect will end. It's a shame because it was one of the best solutions for home users!
Big win for IT departments.
Comments: It does what it is needs to do in a fast and reliable way.
Pros:
Easy of use and powerful tools that save my organization time and money.
Cons:
Its notifications persist even after I uninstall it from a system and move the license to another. Fixed manually, but the uninstaller didn't remove all components of the software automatically.
Excellent software
Comments: Excellent i use it to fix my laptop an is a very usefull tool
Pros:
Easy interface to clone disks, that help me to fix problems on my laptop
Cons:
Nothing really, maybe just that the app update too much
Macrium Reflect gives me Peace of Mind
Comments: It has saved my life so many times. I have two hard drives that each get Images of my C:Drive. Every other day it goes to a different drive. That way, I have an Image from every day and if a drive fails, I'm never more than one day out of date. When Windows or a program goes wonky, I don't waste much time diagnosing, I just reimage my C:Drive and within about 20-minutes I'm running perfectly again.
Pros:
The software is easy to use and is clear and intuitive if you have a little bit of computer knowledge. Anything that's confusing is easily Googled. It's just easy to get going with this program.
Cons:
I can't think of any, honestly. It's just really useful and really designed.
Saved My Laptop
Comments: The one time I needed it, it worked and paid for itself many times over.
Pros:
We have used Macrium Reflect for years. With 2 online backup systems I wondered whether it is was still worthwhile. Three months ago my Win10 laptop decided to totally destroy itself. I tried Windows Restore but that didn't work. Fortunately, I had run a full backup the night before and with a bit of help from a friendly techie, it was reasonably straight forward restore - and as if by magic everything worked again. That was a huge win because otherwise, we would need to have wiped the machine and done a clean Windows restore and then load all my software. For security reasons we manually connect and run our backups on external drives. This process is against my preference for automated systems. However, it worked seamlessly, did exactly what it was supposed to do and I was both impressed and relieved.
Cons:
It is a bit fiddly when you do the initial set up and there are plenty of features that I don't understand what they are for.
The best Hard Drive cloning software out there.
Pros:
The amount of use I have gotten out of this software is astounding. First of all, the free version works wonders. The paid versions works even better. Doesn't let you complete a clone unless it knows it's going to fully work. I am impressed by Macrium, and every technician in our shop trusts this software for clones and copies of HDD's.
Cons:
The updates are tedious and notifications can get annoying, but that's a small price to pay for how incredible this software is.
Easy Backups, Clones and Restores!
Comments: Multi Use Case, Affordable (Free version available too!), and reliable. Cannot recommend enough.
Pros:
Macrium allows us to clone and restore drives very easily. Our use case was in backing up user and employee data or configurations when a drive was failing or a reinstall was necessary. It performs fast, and is flexible in how you intend to backup and clone. Every use case we have stumbled across has been able to be solved with Macrium. When you consider the price, Macrium shines even more. So affordable and feature rich compared to other options.
Cons:
Like any software, there is a learning curve, but the internet has plenty of tutorials and such on how to use it. Spend a few minutes learning about it and you'll be a master in no time!
Macrium Reflect, a requirement for any PC User
Comments: I have deployed Macrium free and for-fee products at most of our clients and have no bad things to say. It has all the features we need, is easy to install and just works. It backs up, restores and even images drives. I have used it at businesses, both large and small and on friends' and relatives' PCs.
Pros:
It installs easily, can be used for free and just works.
Cons:
Minimal downsides, it seems to do everything we need as well as necessary.
