An essential for businesses working across time zones

Comments: TeamUp has facilitated the overall process of hosting international client calls both within my own business and with the contract work I do with external organizations. In all business collaborations I've done with other coaching businesses, all of them have also relied on TeamUp as their event calendar tool!

Pros:

I love the ability to easily share an event calendar and then add it to your own personal calendar. The automatic conversion to your time zone has saved me many hours of confusion with mistakes regarding the set hour for international calls.

Cons:

You have to be careful how you share an event link. Sharing it in the wrong format could lead to a participant not seeing the event in their local time.

Alternatives Considered: Google Calendar

Reasons for Switching to TeamUp: I had trouble sharing a calendar on Google and being able to give access for others to see it. Using TeamUp was much easier, and people can still easily add events to their calendars with a simple click.

Comments: As always promised the world and under delivered hard. Migration process was super bumpy and a lot went wrong. Promised to keep pricing stable and increased by 20% after one year to be increased further. Constant excuses for mistakes and glitches. Lots of glitches.

Pros:

It was inexpensive but they constantly make useless updates, their app is soooooo bad

Cons:

No app for teachers! Custom app lacks basic functionsIncrease rates and prices without notifying you. So you have to check; it gets justified with new features which are just bug fixes really. NO support on weekends! Team is very slow to respond to issues

Perfect for a Movement Studio

Comments: The experience was very good from the implementation to the introduction in our studio, if fits perfectly our needs as Movement studio, and our students love that is so easy to book and buy memberships

Pros:

The adaptability for our type of business, customization and ease to use and implement. Very intuitive also for administration and teachers

Cons:

Very little customizable interface features for the look and feel of the business. The app could be more complete (but the basics are covered)

Would not use any other booking system.

Comments: Freed up so much admin time, tons of automation, personal notifications and our clients find it easy to use. We are really happy with it. A great system run by really lovely people.

Pros:

As a studio owner of 25 years and seen staggering changes in how we run our business in all that time I am delighted to be leaving this review. Having been with Mindbody and got thoroughly fed up with constant price hikes I looked around for an alternative. We moved to Teamup in 2016 and have been with them since. The easiest switch from Mindbody to them - mainly because they have done it so often, it was seamless. Most of all its the team behind Teamup that makes this an easy decision. They have the same values of looking after their clients as we do. You don't run a studio and retain clients for years as we have managed for this long without a lot of input into client retention. Lots of great flexibility and easy to use.

Cons:

There are always things that can be improved and we have the chance to comment on a wish list that others can see too and if's its a good idea or a great improvement, they make it happen.

Great software for your gym or martial arts school

Comments: Teamup has been one of the best decisions we’ve made and has made the friction of setting people up minimal. It has gained us lots of students and we can’t praise it enough.The team is also quick to respond to any questions.

Pros:

It’s very easy to use, it has almost any feature and set up you can think of and it’s quick to use and flexible to fix when you add a new class or change an old one.The payments are easy too, to collect and set up how you want them. The memberships are easy to use and events are a cinch to set up and charge for.

Cons:

Not many, only the lack of a grading system for martial arts classes, and the check ins could be nicer and easier a bit.

Alternatives Considered: Mindbody

Reasons for Choosing TeamUp: Gymdesk was very confusing and was missing most of the features we needed to get things done. People weren’t being charged and it’s just clunky

Great software with so many powerful business tools

Comments: Very good - I'm glad my web designer found Team Up
much better than using a manual spreadsheet!

Pros:

This product is so easy to use. it is almost a "plug in" and use piece of software. Having said that, because of it's vast functionality (which is brilliant) it can get a bit confusing sometimes if you forget your way around the software. I do find myself going round in circles, but I get there in the end. It does everything I need it to and more. I do feel like I only use 30% of the software's capability. Every time I have needed assistance, it is easy to reach out to someone who can guide me through my problem. This is so important as the software is so vast, I sometimes need help making the most of the functions.

Cons:

As I am a small business the cost is what causes me most pain. I have 15-30 active users, and feel that the entry level price of £49 is a lot for me, considering that my business is at the size where I only really need to use 50% of the whole functionality. If there was a smaller fee, which allowed a more basic functionality, perhaps at a lower scale of what is currently offered, I would be super happy. Ideally for me, as a sole trader, with no employees, I do not need the functionality for multiple teachers and embers of staff.

Alternatives Considered: Momoyoga

Reasons for Switching to TeamUp: because I wanted to keep my customers using and visiting my website. other products would direct my customers away from my website and to a parter website.

Does what it says, and always improving

Comments: I don't think about TeamUp very often, because it just works. This is exactly what I want from our booking software.

Pros:

TeamUp makes your life easier, by making all tasks a bit simpler. I especially like the easy engagement from staff who are clearly trying to make the software better and working hard to listen to customers. There have been multiple upgrades in our first year of using the software.

Cons:

The native app just isn't good enough and it's much easier to direct customers to use the website, even on their phones. This is the major thing holding TeamUp back right now.

TeamUp does our admin whilst we run the business

Comments: Excellent. The system reduces our admin time to less than half an hour a day. The dashboard makes it easy to identify new customers, payments going through and any issues such as failed payments too. Everything else is automated, with customers also able to buy or upgrade additional memberships too.

Pros:

TeamUp is a great membership system. It is easy to set up, update and is fully automated with secure card and DD payments within the system (transactions are up front with no invoices/payments to chase). Other useful features such as trigger emails automatically welcome customers, remind them of bookings, tell customers how to get to my business. There are also great billing features that allow you to freeze memberships, automatically skip payments and take ad hoc payments too. We have tried other systems that promise much, however, have recently moved back to TeamUp as for membership management it is hard to beat..

Cons:

There are no cons to using this system. Yes, there would be some nice to have additional features, however, it does the key activities REALLY well.

Alternatives Considered: Mindbody

Reasons for Choosing TeamUp: Our old system had features not offered by TeamUp which is why we moved - it offered customers performance tracking and some other nifty customer features. However, the business management experience was very manual and time consuming. The main reason we came back to TeamUp was that the old system's payment methods were not embedded in the application which meant that invoices and DD mandates were emailed to the customer to complete. This resulted in emails going into junk/spam folders with a lot of admin time required to chase up payments. Many other processes were also pretty manual which increased our time spent on admin with mistakes made because of having to set diary reminders.

Reasons for Switching to TeamUp: The system is fully automated, with great trigger options for customer communications. It has a fantastic dashboard which allows you to assess money and customer activity for the day in less than 2 mins. There are some great billing and booking features that allow you to make changes on payments, cancellations and block bookings so that you can do it once, confident that the system will do the rest. TeamUp reduces admin to half an hour a day, allowing us to get on with coaching and business development.

Great scheduling software solution

Pros:

We use this on a daily basis in 7 locations to schedule our patients, schedule our drivers' routes, and track the foot traffic into our stores.

Cons:

Only able to have 8 calendars. We have been able to make it work but we would have liked 10-12 caledars available to view on one screen.

Wouldn't run my business without it

Comments: Very positive. When I have had a problem, TeamUp support have the answers.

Pros:

All in one package, integrated with my website so my clients access mainly through there. When the lockdowns hit, TeamUp were really quick to integrate with Zoom which removed so many headaches.

Cons:

Not sure the dashboard updates itself all the time, some of the attendance figures don't ring true.

Saves Time, Money and Stress!

Comments: Incredibly good - the support is amazing with progressive development, working in tandem with their clients. It looks good and when you know which features you want to use, it is straight forward.

Pros:

Using TeamUp removes the emotion and stress of having to chase clients for payment, not to mention the time required to do so. It means my relationship with the client is maintained, less time on admin, less financial accounting (I only account 3 x per year now instead of every month) I can spend more time do what I love - teaching and growing my business. Also, last-minute cancellations are paid for without any questions! I can keep all client notes for the classes in one place, so any other teachers covering can easily track any issues they need to contend with in class. Being able to take registers in class saves time and costs. TeamUp are continuously developing and working with their client's needs, I'm always impressed by this. The customer service is 2nd to none.

Cons:

It's not so easy for clients to sign their selves up if there are multiple classes and memberships to choose from, but this may be the generation of clients I deal with! Plus the pro-rata amount that automatically bills if they do set their selves up doesn't fit into my payment model. So, I still tend to this. TeamUp fits into 80% of my business model amazingly well and has made me change the way I work for the better. The 20% that doesn't fit in has to be worked on manually still. It would be ideal if the reporting would show 121 clients that they are being billed for classes that fell on xxx date so they can account for it. The Direct debit model fits in perfectly for business running continuously, I run for 12-14 week blocks, across 35-38 weeks of the year, which means clients who leave have to be balanced with a small amount outstanding either way. I'd love to use the class swap feature but it's not configurable for my 12-14 week blocks. When booking themselves into summer 'flexy classes', it would be ideal if they can add multiple classes to a 'basket' and then pay at the end. None of these points are about 'not liking the software' But points that would make it even better for my business.

Great customer service - nice Pricepoint

Comments: I really love that they have a small company feel to them that I hope always remains. Voting with my feet for something that didn’t feel like a rip off big management company who would ultimately stab their studios in the back (naming no names here!) was really important to our small family run business and the way the customer service was ON it was mind blowing. Really personal service and hope it stays that way

Pros:

I enjoy having a real time look at what is happening NOW with my students as well as what has happened historically

Cons:

I don’t like the ‘custom’ section for time periods - sometimes I quickly like to scroll back 18 months to see what was happening and it only automatically sends you back to only 12 months.I was unhappy with the ‘at a glance’ graphs/pie charts of cash flow etc but now that’s been amended with enhanced features

Comments: Fantastic support, wonderful application. There have been quite a few times that we couldn't figure out how to do something, the online help tool is wonderful, plus the option to send your question to TeamUp and receive a response / solution within hours has been great.

Pros:

My [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and I built our own website, took many, many hours researching products that we thought might be good for the pricing and ease of use, as we have never, ever done anything like this before

Cons:

I can't think of one single item; we haven't had any problems with the app being offline, no glitches, no problems in how we use it.

Comments: Okay so far. Will need to make some changes in the new year to our memberships so will definitely be calling up for help to find out the easiest way to do it, but as always I’m sure it will be good and helpful service!

Pros:

Good customer service. Reduces admin, records everything for me, allows customer to make bookings and changes themselves, lots of new features I’m yet to explore too!

Cons:

Expensive and sometimes missing features (can’t think on the spot right now but when I’m trying to do stuff sometimes I get frustrated because it doesn’t allow me to do something in the way I need it. Have contacted customer service in the past about certain things and they have been good and helpful but sometimes they also agree that the system can’t do everything I need it to do. But they do try and figure out other ways I can use the system to try and help me to make it work. I also really don’t like gocardless or stripe. I get so many issues from them, I wish there was a better option.

Underpinning the daily running of my business

Comments: Brilliant, I have always found the help desk to be on point, and clear in explaining a solution.

Pros:

Love the integration of the many different elements of the customer journey (class booking, membership payments etc) , which are traceable by studio location, and class type. The ability to easily drill down vertically by category, and to make quick and easy changes. Genuinely couldnt run my business without it.

Cons:

That customers can create multiple accounts (their identity on the system is not unique) and thereby reappear numerous times to use Introduction offers or deals, or referral credits. And that the only way to check is manually! Probably the biggest weakness.

A smooth operator

Comments: The whole team have been very helpful at guiding me though from the moment I decided to sign up. Always able to help whenever I’ve had an questions.

Pros:

I like how user friendly and simple it is yet behind the scenes is very detailed and can be adapted to suit my businesses requirements.

Cons:

I find it difficult to add my clients photos to their profiles (I think my phone takes too high a res to be used). Asking clients to add their own is not always executed and the pictures aren’t always clear. This is one thing I miss from my previous software.

It’s easy to use, I’ve had great feedback from my users too. Makes managing the business easy and the reporting is always growing too. Great product that I’ve already recommended to 2-3 similar businesses.

Cons:

Can’t think of any. One comment I’ve had from some users is that it would be useful to see the names of others booked on.

Great software with excellent customer support

Comments: Really positive - has streamlined class management for sure.

Pros:

Honestly the best thing about TeamUp is the amazing customer support. Any time myself or a member has had an issues, somebody has been on the end of the phone to get it sorted. I also find it very user friendly and like that new features get rolled out.

Cons:

With class packs, if a member goes in and books all their sessions up front (e.g. they buy a 10-class pack and register for 10 classes), they have no way of knowing when they have used those sessions up i.e. there is no prompt. Obvioulsy they can (and should) go in and check their profile, but most people don't. And in my experience some people are quite bad at remembering to check these things and then just rock up to classes, sometimes without a valid membership. It would be great if, on the date of the last usage, they get sent a reminder that their pack has now been used up. I know that there are automated emails if somebody's unused credits are about to expire, but nothing for if their membership has actually run out.

Team Up - The best support for my business.

Comments: I find when people use the app, they find it really simple to use. Otherwise customers can get lost with how to book.

Pros:

I find this software easy to navigate around. I have rarely needed to call the support team for help around the system and when I have they have been brilliant.

Cons:

I prefer using the system for my classes than I do my PT 1 to 1 sessions. But this could be how I log payments.

Comments: Amazing, the price the service and the system is everything a new to medium sized fitness facility needs

Pros:

Easy to use and very quick to set up. The best support staff I’ve encountered.

Cons:

The reporting could be better. But it was exactly what we needed when starting 3 years ago

Couldn't do without it

Comments: It has been very good over the years. They've improved year on year and were very quick to adapt when we were all hit by covid which helped myself keep many customers happy and engaged in their training.

Pros:

Team Up has had a massive impact on the growth of my business over the past 3 years. The ease of taking members payments, follow-up and booking in, it really does upgrade your business and customer experience.

Cons:

Customer communication could be better - email is just a bit dated and more accessibility to sending out group notifications/sms would be great.

Fabulous system

Comments: I've been using TeamUp for 7 years now and I continue to be very happy with it. I recommend it all the time as I feel it is not only excellent software but also a really great company and team to work with.

Pros:

The customer service is the stand-out feature of this software. It has loads of great functionality and does all the things I need it to, to be able to run my independent yoga business. But the customer service is really the most impressive thing. When Covid-19 hit they had a guide produced for their software users immediately, with information about support for fitness businesses and how to use the system to adapt. They then produced new features and integrations within a week, which has meant I have been able to pivot my business to being online very easily.

Cons:

I find the system really adaptable and I there isn't anything I have needed that I haven't been able to do. I would like to see a bit more development around the Courses feature as I am using this more and it doesn't have quite the same level of functionality as Classes, but it's a minor issue.
