The Surgery App (available for iphones and droid produtcs) in my opinion is very HIPAA compliant and every user has their own password that is computer generated by Surgimate. It is a combination of numbers and letters. This is so that you are not able to pick a simple password such as pass1234 or something to that nature. 2. What we love about the system\!\!\! Is that Surgimate is integrated with our EMR system. We use Intergy from Greenway. Since they are integrated the patients that are in our EMR system automatically come over to Surgimate so that we do not have to data enter the patients into second system. This includes all patient demographics and insurance information. This is a HUGE time saving feature. 3. All of our forms that we use on a daily basis whether in office forms or forms that we need to complete for the hospitals, have all been uploaded and formatted to pull all necessary data and we are now able to print a completed form instead of handwriting them out. Again another HUGE time saving feature. There is of course a one time set up fee for forms but it's worth it. 4. This software has made our surgery schedulers much more efficient and organized. My surgeons love having their schedules and patient information right at the touch of their hands and the ability to send their surgical codes to their billers on the fly from Surgiapp. There are also many reporting capabilities that help us track just about anything. We love their "customer care" representative that reaches out to us twice a year to review our usage and offer suggestions on how to better use their product. > > **Cons**: The only difficult part for our practice was right out of the gate just making sure our forms were clear and in an electronic format. It's amazing how making copies of copies of copies degrades the quality of what you are handing out not only to your patients but to your facilities and other providers. It was work to get everything set up, mainly because we operate at 10 different facilities, but after the set up everything was great. Surgimate has decreased our having things fall through the cracks for the different facilities. > > **Cons**: At this moment, Surgimate does not have a way for you to "email" someone else through the system. I am hopeful this will become a feature in the future as it would make things run even more smoothly. > > The set up process took a while because we were very particular about all of the aspects of surgimate and making sure it would work the best it could for our practice. Support team was awesome and very patient with us. Once we went live, the support team through the support portal of the website was quick to respond and always willing to make adjustments to help the software work better for us.
