Complete set of business management software
Comments: Odoo has helped us to automate our business process securely while leveraging more revenue.
Pros:
The best part about Odoo is its open-source software which you can download and run on your private server, which makes it more secure and reliable. Odoo comes with integrated apps for CRM, eCommerce, accounting, PoS, and project management. The software is easy to implement with detailed documentation and active community support.
Cons:
The software is written in high-level open-source interpreted Python language. If the software was written in JAVA it would have been even better.

Buckle your seatbelt, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
Comments: The biggest hurdle was the initial implementation so this may be something you would need to prepare yourself for if deciding on choosing Odoo, unless of course you are happy to pay for the support packages offered by Odoo which we found to be very costly. Other than this the system itself is an excellent piece of kit and it has helped our business traverse the gap between startup business to SME
Pros:
Odoo is an extremely powerful software. We use the Manufacturing Module and the CRM Module prominently and these have both been brilliant tools that we are very happy with internally. The MRP is excellent at automating our manufacturing process whereby our production manager has only to add orders to the system while the system itself creates the PO's, calculates times and helps us to schedule our work. The CRM for the sales side is really easy to use and browse through and has a very good tagging feature allowing me (as sales director) to easily filter accounts and keep track of leads.
Cons:
The initial implementation was painful to say the least.. We stated using Odoo way back in 2015 so this may have been due to our slow uptake of the software how ever I recall that once we signed up as paid users, there was very little support given to set up the system (unless we paid extra for the hourly support..). This was a big issue as we never had an easy way to contact someone for help with little configurations and therefore had to do most of the implementation ourselves. It took us over a year to get the system working properly

Thank you [sensitive content hidden]
Comments: My overall experience with Odoo has been positive. I’m very happy with the results and progress we’ve made using the platform—it’s everything we wanted and even exceeds our expectations in some areas. However, there are times when the system can be a bit confusing and repetitive, which can slow down our workflow. Despite these occasional challenges, Odoo has been a valuable tool for our business, and we’re pleased with the direction we’re headed.
Pros:
What I liked most about Odoo is the system's adaptability—it’s incredibly versatile and can be tailored to fit our specific needs. I also want to highlight the outstanding service we received from our consultant, [sensitive content hidden] He’s been extremely attentive and helpful throughout the entire process, making sure we get the most out of the platform.
Cons:
What I liked least about Odoo is the way consulting hours are charged and accounted for. We’re concerned about being billed for time spent resolving issues that aren’t our fault, such as bugs or errors within Odoo itself. It would be more reassuring if there was a clearer distinction between time spent on genuine consulting and time spent addressing system-related problems.

Terrible experience with Odoo and locked into 3 year contract
Comments: The implementation process is terrible, and Odoo being newer and less used in the US means their support and staff really do not know much about the system. You are paying them to learn with you, and there is no way to talk to the people that might know the system. It seems all of their developers are overseas, so timing is a real issue. We were told our implementation would be complete by the end of January, and we are in July now and still none of out inventory stays in sync on any of out platforms.(Amazon, eBay and WooCommerce). No one at Odoo can figure out why. One of the support techs told me they do not know much about setting up eBay and showed me what they found about it when the googled the issue. Not very comforting. We have been overselling on our platforms, and that is a very bad thing as am Amazon and eBay seller. We can't get them to prioritize us and get the issues resolved. We were told by our sales consultant and his manager that we would be getting a refund of 100% of the implementation costs, and we have this in email from them. We have still not received this and it is 3 months later. They will no longer even respond to questions about the refund. We are locked into a 3 year, very expensive contract with no hope at this point that the system will ever work for us. We are at the point where we fell we are just going to need to leave Odoo for a new system and it will be a huge loss and almost a year of lost time and resources. They absolutely do not care about their customers.
Pros:
We liked the variety of apps Odoo had available for different business uses. We also liked that Odoo could keep our inventory in sync with all of our selling platforms, such as Amazon, eBay and WooCommerce. We also liked the cost, much less expensive than Netsuite. Please see our overall comments below for the after sales call and contract signing.
Cons:
Lack of customization of reports without paying Odoo a lot of money to make the changes. Very few report overall. Hard to pull your data from the system due to different application working together.
Alternatives Considered:
SQL error while installing app
Comments: Satisficed with the outcome and how the software is adapted to our needs. Support if not bad and they give you a solution.
Pros:
Open source and easy to troubleshoot. I give you the freedom to customize the apps according to your needs. Very important for businesses with complex processes that do not follow standards.
Cons:
Sometimes there is a fine line on support if you are not hosted in Odoo.sh. Not fare at all for self hosted companies
