Paychex Flex is great for completing payroll

4.0 last year

Comments: I appreciate being able to check on the 401(k) and have the money go straight into employee accounts, saving time and effort. Since insurance coverage is now related directly to who has enrolled in which plans, processing payroll has become much more efficient.

Pros:

From either the employer's or employee's perspective, the website couldn't be simpler to use. Filters and stored views make it easy to customize your payroll experience based on your current needs.

Cons:

Over the years, I've seen a few different specialists. Obviously, not everyone has the same potential. When my allocated person hasn't been able to help me, I've found that the online chat staff is quite responsive and helpful.

Old School Payroll

1.0 last month New

Comments: The process I inherited had people filling out and signing timesheets manually. It was terrible.

Pros:

Not much, I suppose it was inexpensive and does not change very much from year to year.

Cons:

Lack of innovation, the technology seemed like it was from decades ago.

Expensive & Frustrating Company and Service

2.0 3 months ago

Comments: We switched to Paychex for their Employee Retention Credit filing services, and they seemed like they'd be more involved and personal than our previous provider. However, things turned south and they drop the personal touch once you're established. They're a decent payroll provider, but the lack of transparency with invoicing and dashboard navigation issues are concerning.

Pros:

Paychex onboarding is great. The main dashboard became easier and easier to use, and there's a lot of features that come with a basic subscription and more you can add.

Cons:

The extra features are pushed HARD by their teams. Their retirement savings team was almost predatory with how they sold the product, constant calls, applying pressure to make a decision, and more. Once we started with their HR service, things just got worse. These features get more and more expensive with less and less that they offer, but you're under contract. The invoicing gets obfuscated so you don't know what money is being charged for, and you have to be on top of them to not make errors or mistakes. The platform itself can be confusing with many features not having a menu button, requiring access strictly through an notification card on the dashboard homepage.

Intuitive and user friendly

3.0 2 months ago

Comments: Overall it was easy to use. As noted, not being able to view my team in aggregate and at a glance was tedious and cumbersome.

Pros:

It was intuitive to use and maneuver through the system.

Cons:

I could not see my team at one time. I had to click into each individual to see their hours for the week.

Happy with the service and flexibility of Paychex Flex

4.0 2 weeks ago New

Pros:

The platform is widely used across the entertainment industry. It allowed my union members to access their paycheck info and w2s for multiple companies in one app. The representative for my area was attentive and always available to fix any problems that the support line could not fix. They are pro-active in maintaining customer satisfaction.

Cons:

It can be a bit clunky to process paychecks for people who are paid in different ways. The layout could be a bit better. Also there is a lot of sub menus that you need to access to adjust specific parameters for each employees. It can be quite confusing.

Who was the Challenge

3.0 last year

Comments: Very frustrating. Time and Attendance wasnot set up to cover varied time schedules. Majority of our staff work 7 hours or less and it calculated employees PTO at 8 hours.

Pros:

We had a difficult payroll and many on the implementation team became frustrated all except our Payroll Manager. She was patient and work with us to get a great product. Even when we decided to leave Paychex, she follow-up to see if we still needed their services until our new payroll vendor was able to get our payroll set up in their system.

Cons:

The system is hard to use. Many of the features convert back to original features. The system nor the training received from the implementaion team did not allow the Administrator to make minimal employee information changes. This was frustrating. Also, the assist feature was outdated and was hard to follow the steps to rectify an issue using the help assistant. As well, CSR was not able to assist with any issues either. Very frustrating.

Great time tracking software

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: Employees immediately appreciated the ease of clocking in and out using the Time Clock. With features like biometric login and mobile app integration, employees could quickly clock in from anywhere, at their desks, on the job site, or working remotely. This flexibility significantly improved the accuracy of time tracking, as employees no longer had to rely on remembering to clock in manually.

Pros:

The customer service when we need guidance on using the software or need assistance with any errors that need correcting.

Cons:

Sometimes it is not clear or seems impossible to correct time-clock errors efficiently.

The source to See Time, Pay, Benefits and Resources

5.0 4 months ago

Comments: It has been a great experience and very efficient to use Paychex from their portal and get to all the features it lets you manage.

Pros:

Paychex has a great user interface that makes it easy to find all the resources I need to manage my time, benefits and employee approvals for time off.

Cons:

One challenge is finding the right support agent for the issue I am having. It can take some time to get connected.

Useful application, but room for more flexibility

3.0 4 months ago

Comments: Overall I think it's good, but of course there is room for improvement on how flexible it really can be for users.

Pros:

My favorite thing is that I can see all my tax forms on Paychex, that way I don't need to worry about losing my papers or asking someone for another copy.

Cons:

I don't like that it limits how soon you can clock in and out. Sometimes I go on my break, but minutes later they ask me to come back and help someone else. But because you have to wait a bit before you can clock back in, it blocks you. Or at least that has been my experience.

Easy all in one payroll platform

5.0 last year

Comments: I absolutely enjoy using it and love the simplicity of it and how easy it is for anyone to be able to navigate successfully without having to require any additional assistance

Pros:

The fact that you can use platform to complete approval of time, time clock, payroll processing, and scheduling time off. Which I feel prevents using multiple platforms which may cause issues with certain tasks possibly being able to be overlooked.

Cons:

I would just think that the price for the service could be a little lower and across the board for all features available

My Experience with Paychex Flex: Handy but not Perfect.

4.0 2 months ago

Comments: My overall experience has been good not much great it really help me I can do multiple work with it like handling my tax or time off requests and it has limited customization which is very concerning I wish I could customize dashboard more as per my need.

Pros:

I like how easy its interface is very straightforward and user friendly. I can easily find any detail regarding paycheck or other benefits information also I love the mobile app its really a game changer. I can do my work even if I am not my desktop.

Cons:

What I dislike about Paychex Flex is that sometime it does not load properly or its get slow which is irritating when I am in hurry also it literally bombarded me with notification which cause sometime I miss important notification.

Paychex Flex

3.0 5 months ago

Comments: The product is decent but you do need to keep your eye on the product and processes. Tax filing can be an issue in some instances if you aren't paying close attention. The reporting could be better as there wasn't much user customisable offerings.

Pros:

Intuitive. Reasonable reporting ability. Full tax service.

Cons:

Customer service. Tax inaccuracies. Unable to go fully paperless.

Just Okay?

3.0 4 months ago

Pros:

I think one of the best features of Paychex Flex is the wide range of features it offers, including payroll processing, HR management tasks, and attendance tracking.

Cons:

There are some notable cons: The customer service is absolutely horrendous. It can take days to hear from your account manager. If you speak with a customer service representative, they always suggest contacting your account manager. The website was completely unusable when trying to process payroll. If you had to make any adjustments, it could take a day of just lagging since everyone else was using the website.

More experience needed for Account Managers

3.0 last year

Comments: We had 3 account managers with Paychex Flex, the first 2 had challenges following thru on items, so we requested new account managers. We discovered that account manager is an entry level position, all seasoned account managers have been promoted to specialists or phone customer service representatives. We finally received an account manager who had been an account manager for 5 years, called a senior account manager, but he wasn't very helpful and spoke mostly in "corporate speak" - not super helpful. He could at least understand what the problem was we were having, but he would have to pass along an internal ticket to get problems resolved.

Pros:

It was user friendly in it set up and functions, however too many items required personal service running accurate payroll which required phone calls to account managers.

Cons:

The account manager role is an entry level position at Paychex, so nearly all calls to account managers resulted in a response of "let me check with my manager and I'll get back to you".

Paychex Flex is clean and intuitive.

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: Paychex Flex is a convenient and functional solution for both employers and employees. While it has room for improvement, it's still a solid choice for companies looking to streamline HR and payroll processes.

Pros:

One of the standout features is the ability to view and manage payroll on the go. I can quickly check pay stubs, tax information, and even benefits, all in one place. It's also great for employees who need to clock in or out remotely to review their schedules. The flexibility to access this information at any time is a real plus.

Cons:

The app can be slow to load at times. It also lacks few customization option that would make it more user-friendly, like the ability to set custom notifications or personalize the dashboard.

Great software for small companies.

4.0 7 months ago

Comments: The overall software is great and easy to use; however, that seems to apply best to a small company with fewer than 100 employees.

Pros:

I liked the point-and-click functionality of the software.

Cons:

This software seems to be geared for smaller companies, whereas the company I was working for at the time of using Paychex Flex had over 500 employee

Paychex Flex Review

5.0 4 months ago

Pros:

Intuitive software to see the paychecks and how much sick time off I have! If you are looking for a simple payroll tracker, Paycheck Flex would be a great tool for it.

Cons:

I have not utilized any other features than checking the weekly payrolls (I much I got paid) and sick time, so if you expect any other advanced features, there would be another better choice than Paycheck Flex.
