What counts as a lookup: one signal checked. Single-signal endpoints cost one credit. The unified /v1/score/user endpoint checks up to five signals in one call and costs one credit per signal, so a full five-signal signup is five credits — roughly 200 complete signups a month on the free tier. Every response returns a billable\_lookups field so the cost of a call is never a guess.

Cached and test-mode lookups are free and never count toward your limit. You can set your own monthly spend cap, and the free tier is a hard cap rather than a surprise bill.
