What every plan includes

Bank connections run through Plaid, which supports 10,000+ US financial institutions including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi, Capital One, Amex, and Chime. Access is read-only. OpenBudget can read your transactions and balances but cannot move money, make payments, or change account settings. Your banking credentials are never stored on OpenBudget servers.

Plaid pulls up to 24 months of history on the first connection, so you can ask questions about the past two years immediately after setup.

Trial and cancellation

The 7-day trial gives full access to the plan you select. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Annual plans work out to two months free compared with monthly billing.

Good to know before you buy

OpenBudget currently supports United States banking institutions only. Setup takes about two minutes: connect your bank through Plaid, then add the OpenBudget connector to your AI client. There is no separate mobile app because OpenBudget runs inside the AI assistant you already use, which works on web, desktop, and phone.

Who it fits

People who already use Claude or ChatGPT daily and want their real financial data available in the same place, rather than learning another dashboard. It also fits anyone who prefers spreadsheets, since transactions land in Google Sheets or Excel automatically without CSV exports.
