Excellent Cloud Based Software

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: We love it and recommend it highly

Pros:

This is the best software we have used for multiple doctors in multiple locations. It is also cloud based so we don't have to worry about a server going down or losing any information.

Cons:

There is no electronic signature availability for the patient file

Very pleased I made the transition to modern cloud-based Curve from my old industry standard softwar

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Simply excellent.

Pros:

Support and training is top notch, period. They answer every single time and have a ticket system in the software for non-urgent issues, questions, or suggestions. Why don't more do this? Also really like their claims management which is included and the price for the features is reasonable and less than what I was paying to cobble together the same types of features with my old "#1 industry leading software." Transitions are always work, but I'm convinced that Curve set us up for success and I cannot believe how frequently they make meaningful and impactful software updates (monthly!) without additional cost. I suspect that some of the old legacy software vendors don't simply because it is a pain to update every server and workstation (time, frustration, after hours, and sometimes creates massive issues post-update). Curve has none of these issues, they update it in the background and the features are "magically" available without any of my time running around to each station. Time is money and time is frustration and Curve saves me both.

Cons:

The Clinical notes are reasonable and you can make templates, however, I wish you were able to make more flexible response based templates. A minor issue.

Not sure the pros outweigh the cons...

2.0 2 years ago

Comments: I'm honestly not sure it was worth switching over from Dentrix but I can't do that to my team so we are staying with Curve.

Pros:

I think the schedule visually looks great, it is easy to schedule patients, and treatment planning/charting is very straight forward.

Cons:

Our front office is still struggling with the management software, working with insurance, and running reports. I wish patient photos were bigger. I wish you could take and store cone beams in Curve. The imaging software in Curve really lacks compared to Dexis for even taking bitewings.

Decent product for multiple practices but it definitely has its flaws

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Decent product for multiple practices but it definitely has its flaws. If transferring systems wasn't such a big hassle I'm not sure if I'd switch again.

Pros:

Easy to use, Sidekick and Curve Gro reminders and 2 way texting are it's best features. Transitioning over with patients was easy, took some time to sort through all patients.

Cons:

No mobile app for the dentists, cannot move around appts, can only see your schedule. Had trouble integrating credit card payments (physical terminal & via e portal) with the software when I first transferred over. After 6 months, 4 different credit card terminals I gave up trying and just use other vendors and manually input the payment into the ledgers. This unfortunately makes the patient portal almost useless, because patients want the ability to pay their bills online. All the other portal features are really just window dressing. Can only use one sensor at a time.

Venango Technology Center

Comments: I am using Curve Dental in a classroom setting and it has been wonderful. It is easy to explain and very user-friendly. It is easy for students to visualize and learn the basics of navigating dental software for the first time. It becomes easier and easier for them to build on different aspects of dental office procedures using the Curve software.

Pros:

I prefer how easy it is to understand and navigate the software. I also like that it is cloud-based and can be accessed from anywhere. I like that I can see when students log in, how much time they spent in each section and I can control which areas they have access to.

Cons:

The hardest part of this software is creating everything from scratch and inputing all the information once the training is over.

Alternatives Considered:

Frustrated. Not user friendly.

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: From a front desk and accounting standpoint, this is not the system to choose if you want something that is clear, concise and easily understood. It is confusing for patients, difficult for staff to navigate, and the whole process has been quite frustrating. Also, we got excellent phone support before we purchased. Curve customer service and the people who were assigned to our account were super easy to reach, and very supportive. After we purchased, though, it is a whole different matter. We are never allowed to be given a direct phone number to a supervisor or manager. We have asked for additional training, and have been told that 'nobody ever asked for that before' and that it simply was not an option. If I had to do it all over again, I would not consider Curve.

Pros:

It is a dental software. I do not have much more to say that is positive.

Cons:

There are many, many features that are simply not available in Curve, from coding and charting issues to the way we run our AR and other financial reports. The support we receive from Curve is minimal, and most times does not help us fix the situation at hand.

Curve Dental Response

Thank you for your feedback. We offer a toll-free number that we answer in under two minutes which will be much faster than calling a supervisor or manager. If the support person cannot answer your question, they will involve their manager to resolve the issue. We also offer additional training options. A response for more training is directed to our implementation team to schedule the training. We also offer articles, training videos, and more available in Curve Community which you can access at any time. You can also forward your contact information to us so we can connect with you directly.

Comments: Curve is great to work with, the Support team are knowledgeable and quick to respond. The software is always advancing. Users love how easy everything is to use in the software.

Pros:

This product is extremely user friendly and easy to train inexperienced users. It is intuitive and visually simple and unintimidating.

Cons:

Reporting functionality is broken and slow. The reporting module was built in a way that you cannot filter the reports before running them. If you have a large database, this means the report times out, before the report even loads. It is extremely cumbersome. Also, you should be able to either see a description of the report or a preview of the report before running... So, you are not wasting your time running a report before you know if it is the correct data.

Curve has been an asset to our office

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Curve has been an asset in our office and has made our day to day operations easier.

Pros:

Curve is very user friendly and easy to use. Constant updates on the system help to make it easy to use and the customer service is top notch. I feel that they really listen to their customers. Curve did take a little bit to get use to but we were coming from paper charts and hadn't used any electronic charting before.

Cons:

The billing module and statements could really use an update. I feel they are more difficult to read and understand by the patients.

Pros:

Cons:

Do not convert to Curve from Dentrix

1.0 3 years ago

Comments: Curve is a nightmare if you are converting from Dentrix. Sending claims is a joke and we're basically using 2 softwares and doing double the work because SO MUCH data doesn't convert. If you want to manually enter in data for thousands of patients, then maybe you would enjoy it. They over promise and under deliver on all sides. We hate this software. Buyer beware! You will be paying double, because you will need to reference both. If you are starting a scratch practice is the only time I would even use Curve. Every problem we have, they just say we have to deal with...they don't even have the solutions. I'm surprised as many people use this software as they claim do. Also, our representatives don't call the doctor back when she has a need.

Pros:

It was modern and seemed like it would be easier to use.

Cons:

They don't convert enough of the data. You will still need access to everything in your previous practice management software, so you will probably end up paying for two services and not just one.

Let's Smile loves using CURVE Hero and CURVE Gro

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: We LOVE Curve Dental!

Pros:

The customer service is outstanding. When the dental team has a question on a certain topic, they go to the Curve Community and easily look up the topic. The instructions are easy to understand step by step directions. We also love that this software is cloud-based. We travel throughout SE Minnesota into school-based dental clinics. This software allows us to access patient charts no matter where we are located in our outreach progra.

Cons:

We have not had any issues with Curve Dental.

Absolutely love Curve!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I love the reports that Curve has readily available whenever we want to look at something. They also have a lot of charts available to see the practice at a glance.

Pros:

We love that Curve has the capability to do most everything we need for our dental practice! Messaging to patients, online payments, scheduling, claims, insurance verification, etc. They also make it very easy to talk to an actual person when and if you need them along the way.

Cons:

There are a couple of items that we have submitted as suggestions to Curve (which they tend to implement tickets along the way). These include the option to create forms in other languages, specifically Spanish as our patient base does include Spanish speaking patients. Also, Curve needs the function to create CMS-1500 forms to send to medical insurance as we currently use an outside software for this.

I love Curve - even with its quirks!

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Curve is really user friendly. Their support team is helpful and they take suggestions into account.

Cons:

I would like to have a notes function that is specific to certain aspects of the patient's chart - such as billing or appointment notes (i.e. patient can come in earlier). These notes are not related to clinical care, so I'd like to have them in a separate place than the clinical notes.

The why and why not's about Curve

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

I'm really not sure. It's not a bad software but I just feel like it should have more options to "customize" for each practice needs.

Cons:

The integration was not the easiest. We brought over our balances from our old software as "converted balances". I don't feel like we were explained how this would affect us as insurance claims were paid. The imaging is still a problem as updates are sent out - this is never smooth. The accounting in still a challenging - "running balance" even when the balance is zero. Insurance processing, insurance claims, when you place Sub on ID where and print the claim, it puts the social security #. We have called several times but it has not been resolved. I ask for an update to download all xrays at one time so I could email to another provider(ex: FMX) but you can only do this when they are in a mount - not individually.

Very happy we switched to Curve Dental

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Curve is easy to use. Switching over went very smooth. I like that it is always improving. extra features are great, like, hands free perio charting. Credit card point of sale. electronic claim submission.

Cons:

We really could use a spanish option for reminders to patients. In imaging the measurement tool is not very good. Imaging loads slow.

Small Office Software

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Coming from the medical field with no dental experience, overall it was very easy to learn and maintain.

Pros:

Scheduling it very user friendly and easy to understand. Financial reports are very helpful

Cons:

Lack of ability to total each provider columns for daily totals so each provider knows if they are close to goals. Right now we have to total manually the day before to review in next morning huddle. Also there is not a way to run a report for all of our inventory items.

Unprofessional and careless

1.0 6 years ago

Comments: So far behind the Curve compared to other dental management platforms.

Pros:

Cloud based. That is it.

Cons:

Customer service is horrendous. Can't load fee guides on time and make no effort to do so despite multiple requests well in advance. Constantly placated by staff that offer no solutions. Year after year the fee guides are not loaded on time. Staff could care less. Expensive for lack of functionality and having to manually input your fees because Curve doesn't care to meet deadlines. Perio chart is elementary; odontogram looks good but you really can't chart anything other than restorations and surfaces - everything you need to properly diagnose and record on the odontogram needs to be added by creating a note and drawing - its a waste of time; medical history - no log; cannot compare over time - bleeding and exudate require too much effort - who has time to colour in plaque and calculus - why is this even a function? ; estimates on insurance are incorrect; cannot coordinate benefits; everything is on a priority list, but what is a priority really doesn't improve clinical or business functionality and efficiency.

Great Cloud-based Dental Software

5.0 8 years ago

Comments: We purchased five standing offices. Each had a different dental software. We needed a product that would enable us to view all five schedules remotely, and Curve has been terrific. It has changed how we look at schedules and increased our efficiency and flexibility. All employees can check their upcoming day from the comfort of their own homes.
Training on the software is very good, and customer support is very responsive. Curve is always evolving, and the staff welcomes any and all suggestions.
Most features are very useful, and, once one knows how to maneuver, they make sense and are easy to use.
We plan to continue using Curve, and I have already recommended it to other dental offices.

Pros:

I love being able to access all five office schedules at any time from any place where I have my laptop.

Cons:

Most issues I have had have been MY user issues! I would LOVE to see a "daily diary" with chores like auto/property carriers use to remind adjusters of tasks. When I want to reschedule a cancellation or missed appt, I can't mark it appropriately AND put it in the queue as a quick reminder to call the patient. I know I can run a report, but I'd love to be able to use the queue as a daily diary as well.

We LOVE Curve

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: We recommend this software to anyone looking for an ease of use program that you can access anywhere as long as you have access to google chrome. It's fantastic!

Pros:

The best feature about this software is that everything is in the cloud and you don't need to pay additional money for a giant server to hold medical records. Its very user friendly and even team members who haven't used it before seem to catch on quite quickly!

Cons:

Because everything is cloud based, if there is a problem with internet (storm or something similar), everything goes down. It's a rare occurrence, but it does happen.

Nine Months In and Still Learning

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Very attentive throughout the onboarding process and shortly after, training was very thorough and because as a team we dedicated a lot of time to it, it was as comfortable as a transition could be. It is pretty difficult to speak to someone after you are live; mostly you just have to text a concern and hope for a resolution.

Pros:

We needed to go to a web-based PMS due to having more than one location. It is reliable in that we haven't had any downtime.

Cons:

It is difficult to manage the accounts, not the easiest to customize the reports if you need to consider patients insurance status regarding outstanding claims.
