Pros:

I enjoy the ease of use the most of the manufacturing excellence

Cons:

integration of other systems is quite challenging personally

Pros:

MasterControl MES has provided my company with a great resource to make our entire process more lean. The savings we have had as a company just from moving away from paper records is worthwhile enough, but the modular nature and no-code simplicity of the interface has allowed us simplify all of our records in a way that was easy to implement. Also, the interface with our quality system was seamless and API integrations are something we are looking forward to putting in place. MasterControl is also constantly improving their software to provide more and more functionality to its end users and the customer service experience has been excellent

Cons:

Integrating with regulatory, validation of templates, and some small lags are the main issues or services that we have not taken advantage of yet.

MasterControl Review

Pros:

The infocard feature that allows you to check previous history, status, revisions, upload attachments, and adding links to documents.

Cons:

Constantly logs out of my account, frequently doesn't save or capture changes in collaboration workspace, frequently doesn't allow or there is an error when opening documents in collaboration, lag time to search for documents, occasionally will have to click "discard" or "replace" the infocard when revising documents in the collaboration workspace, and searching for document # and sometimes doesn't show up unless you click "expand search" to find the document.

MasterControl - Digitize Your World

Pros:

Issuing batch records is extremely simple. Lot number control ensures numbers aren't skipped and the ability to filter records between various products is extremely useful. Mx Builder is user friendly and intuitive to use. Regex expressions allow you to define user inputs, decreasing entry errors.

Cons:

Reporting and data analysis is a bit challenging. Insights is an improvement from Jreports, however, there is still quite a learning curve before the module becomes useful. More training and improvements to the speed/functionality of Insights would greatly improve the product.

Review of MasterControl in MFG from builder/user perspective

Comments: Overall MasterControl has been a huge success for our company. Standards of quality, tracibility and less deviations are all apparent with the implementation on MasterControl within our site.

Pros:

I like the flexibility to build an electronic batch around our process. In the past I've seen process changes occur in order to facilitate lack of software configurability which is a concern. The flexibility of MasterControl eliminates that concern.

Cons:

Fully integrating MasterControl with an established ERP such as SAP is a little more difficult than it first seemed. We have quite intricate batch records with a large amount of differing components. MasterControl has been open and helpful during this process, but there have been many bumps in the road.

#MES G.O.A.T

Pros:

I find the Master Template Builder tool to be relatively easy to use. The interface is user-friendly and functionalities make sense.

Cons:

For Master Template building, our team has found that some restrictions are difficult to find work-arounds for. For example, if an Operation level is configured to be 'Repeatable', if any calculated values are within that repeated Operation, those same values cannot be pulled to other parts of the record. This is limiting when data propagates throughout an entire record. I have trained the Builders to instruct 'transcribing values' from repeatable Operations to be able to be used later downstream.

Electronic Batch Record Review

Pros:

We use this product to maintain our production in our subsidiary, and not many other companies offer this feature.

Cons:

The cost of licensure limits how many people can make and use the eBR.

Review of Production records

Comments: It continues to be a good experience. I have used manual batch records in the past and it can be challenging in running a process and ensuring that the document is not damaged as well as being unable to read someone's handwriting or managing printouts/attachments. The eBR is more efficient and I like that a user has to be trained before being able to perform a task in the eBR.

Pros:

I did not participate in the configuration. However, I have used the Production Record Solution to issue electronic batch records.

Cons:

I do not like the search function. It can be challenging to search for a completed production record. Some of the fields have too many options for completed records.

Best MasterControl Product

Pros:

It is extremely easy to both create master templates and complete production records.

Cons:

Taking time to get improvements that I find valuable.

Building master templates

Pros:

The product is easy to understand and use. I like the straightforward UI and how all options are presented clearly.

Cons:

The most difficult feature to use in Manufacturing Excellence is currently product families. It is tedious to modify steps that already have the product family setting applied. Additionally, I would like to see better word wrap settings instead of the horizontal scroll bar on the list of product families below the step in order to better see the settings applied.

Comments: Excellent suite of tools for your manufacturing needs

Pros:

Ease of building Master Template to completely capture our process/EBR

Cons:

API/Integration need to capture all the necessary data points of auxiliary systems.

MC is Friendly

Comments: Is a great porosity and the Customer Service is good.

Pros:

Ease of use and multiple access options.

Cons:

The role out at our site. Not MCs fault.

Manufacturing Excellence Review

Comments: MasterControl has been a great help with implementation of MX. The initial sessions with the SMEs were very beneficial in helping us to gain a thorough understanding of the tool which allowed us to effectively use the tool once our initial implementation phase was finished. They are also excellent at listening to the input that we have given about added functionality and are continually improving the product.

Pros:

It provides a digital format for documenting production activities. This allows for a reduction in human errors specifically in documentation, as well as the ability to easily collect and analyze data about the manufacturing process.

Cons:

The largest friction point that we have with MX is a lack of customizability. Our process is very complex and we have found ourselves having to make multi-step workarounds in order to replicate our process.

The eQMS

Comments: Challenging but worth it

Pros:

Ease of use. Customization of all facets of the product. Support on all of the system.

Cons:

User training can be a challenge. Working with departments that do not want to progress.

Manufacturing

Pros:

Just learning the building of it working on it now

Cons:

Just learning and building it out to work for operators

Easy to build, easy to use, reduces errors

Comments: The staff is great, the product is simple to use, but powerful. Would like to see more functionality as the product continues to grow.

Pros:

The system is easy to understand, MBRs are easy to buildThe system is easy to use, production records are easily understoodHelp reduce errors by setting criteria on entries

Cons:

With simplicity comes lack of functionality. Would love to see the system be able to interface with SCADA systems to control equipment, or historians more easily to pull data into the production record.

MasterControl

Pros:

The ability to link calculation blocks together to drop information from previously filled out boxes is very useful. It makes sampling easier in that sense because we only have to link the calculation once, and it will automatically populate for us.

Cons:

As a nonGMP lab, the major con is how rigid the MasterControl structure is. Our operations change on the fly, and we cannot account for that given the fact that MasterControl was intended for GMP labs in the first place. This is our major holdup, and we won't be able to implement the system further until it can be more flexible.

Intuitive & Highly Adaptable

Comments: While it is expensive, the customer support and the Manufacturing Excellence module are excellent.

Pros:

Building the master templates are the foundation for electronic batch records. No coding is required. The MasterControl support team was great for helping with navigating best practices and functions.

Cons:

The price is high, but recognize that this is a premium product and comes with a strong service team.

Comments: really easy to use and has helped the business

Pros:

the simplicity of the software but the fact it provides so much fucntionality

As a business we havent seen any negative so far...

Comments: Reducing of human errors for caluclations, missed steps and legibility.

Pros:

Features like calucalation of time, weights, enforcing numeric digits, warning when out of specification.

Not allow pictures s and being able to do basic text formatting at phse steps.

Culture change with MX

Pros:

1. Culture change where site is now doing paperless and getting comfortable with systems in general

1. It’s fairly new so a lot of kinks needs to be removed. Need to ensure it is scalable
