Smooth transition, will never go back

Comments: Extremely Positive! OWNA support have been kind, accessible and super helpful! OWNA aligned with our personal sustainability goals (paperless) and has every feature we need. Highly Recommend!

Pros:

OWNA is easy to navigate and is a one-stop shop! It honestly has it all! From planning and programming, linking learning stories and observations, sharing information amongst management and staff, and so much more. Our families love the 'cheat sheet', finding it easy to navigate with this assistance, and now engage with our content/documentation so much more than ever before. Everything is ONLINE! Going paperless is easy with OWNA.

Cons:

The only hiccup - transferring families from our old software left emergency contacts behind and only took primary caregivers. it took a lot of work to get those contacts all included in each child's profiles. Several years on, this isn't a problem as new families enter the details right into the system.

Supporting OWNA

Comments: Overall, I will still happy with OWNA. Though we are still learning how to utilise the app, we are now bit organise compare before. It provides us a system in our organisation

Pros:

I like that it is a software where the admin and educators can use together. Also, I love that they are actively developing it to cater the current changes of the childcare industry. I can see their passion to the childcare industry and I love that they have weekly training.

Cons:

Their immunisation record does not cover the additional vaccine required for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait children. Since it is a national legal requirement, I suggested to them to add it. But their response was that at this stage they could not do that. I just hope that they will align things in their software to the national legal requirement.

Comments: Happy to continue with using most of the functions but we don't have a large % of families that use apps or are interested in using them to communicate. It's good to have it there for those who do like it though.

Pros:

I like the incident reports and communication with families. QIP, loading documents, maintenance log.

Cons:

Rostering - way too confusing and unable to navigate so far. CCS and accounts - Not really interested in going here at the moment as I find it not as user friendly as our current system. Adding discounts, holiday fees, changes to bookings - these are all quite clunky compared to what we use.

The Hills Little Learners Review

Comments: Amazing.

Pros:

In my many years in the ECEC Industry and using a many different apps for the indurty, OWNA has by far exceeded my expectations as it offers so much. Not just fr the educators documenting but also for Admin and enrolments. Having everything on one app makes it so much easier to stay on top of things and also for families which can see everything from their child's day to our QIP, centre poilcies etc. It has been a very welcomed change to our service and the eudcators and myself really love using this daily

Cons:

It can be glitchy at times and we may have to close the app, re open for it to work. Sometimes the educators lose their work if the app glitches if they are in the middle of writing an observation and it stops working, it doesnt automatically save to draft.

OWNA made daily life easier

Comments: We have used other child care specific software in the past and OWNA is much easier to use. It provides all of the information and data collection we require in a logical and easy to use manner.

Pros:

We use this software for our Long Day Care Centre. OWNA is easy to use, navigate and explain to others. It is quick to navigate between screens and the processes are logical. My daily tasks are easier and more streamlined thanks to this software.

Cons:

Reporting is completed by transferring data to Excel. Would be nice to just be able to print a formatted report in PDF from the software (eg: end of month figures for our accountant, Bond summary) Half days and absences do not show in daily number overview. Many families find invoicing confusing, however this is on par with other software we have tried.

Love Owna

We love our owna app and so do the families We can record everything on one platform and families can also record information and interact with us as well We couldn’t do with put it now

Cons:

Same more features would be great like - Covid vaccination on visitor iPad when they sign in can tick off vaccinated - more regulate updates as we don’t seem to get them

Great management tool

Amazing software and even better support!

Pros:

We are a brand new service and have been using OWNA for a little under a year. It's been amazing! Everything is built into the one product whereas i would have otherwise have had to purchase and pay for multiple products that would have been clunky to use and less feature rich. Whenever i have an issue, the support team 9/10 will answer the call on first ring, if not, they call you back soon enough. Got nothing but good things to say about OWNA

Cons:

Occasionally find a bug but it's never a significant issue and the support team fix it right away.

Reasons for Switching to OWNA: OWNA was much more feature rich and for a fraction of the price

Pros:

This software is so easy to use, it's a fantastic way to communicate with families and staff and it simply streamlines our entire day.

Cons:

There hasn't been anything yet that I could say is a negative to this software, I only wish we had have discovered it sooner.

Comments: I guess the team is busy so accessing support can be a struggle at times.

Pros:

We like the reconciliation for the payments, the CCS management and attendance records.

Cons:

Staff discounts still have weaknesses and children's attendances

Always moving forward

Comments: From the very first day we sat down and met with the OWNA team we were blown away. Their vision, their commitment to their customers and their integrity has never wavered. At every turn, the support team have been there to help and get us through any difficulty we have found ourselves in. The attention to detail when creating new features and taking on feedback is second to none. Using OWNA for us means we are never in this alone, either by email, online chat or phone, there is always someone who is available to provide direction or clarity on any concern. OWNA is a team of passionate people who really care about your problems, concerns, ideas and this makes all the difference.

Pros:

The OWNA software is not just a platform we use, but an experience. From the online platform, to the app, to the support team, OWNA is a complete, well rounded experience that doesn't let us down.

Cons:

I really can not fault OWNA. At any time where I have found a con, the team have either been quick to resolve the issue or take on board the feedback in new updates.

OWNA # 1 Platform for Childcare Services

Comments: SmartPlay's overall experience is very good. We have been proud partners with OWNA and believe in the clever, overarching plan to lift the Early Childhood sector out of the 20th century clunky and paper-based nightmare of compliance regulations. We love that [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] makes himself accessible and does whatever he can to accommodate our needs.

Pros:

We love OWNA's vision to be the best and provide a single platform to serve our Early Childhood and School Age Care services. The management for our national group makes it easy to see what is happening across every centre from the big picture, down to the fine detail. SmartPlay has continued to work with OWNA and increasing the on line, anywhere, anytime features that allow parents easy access, instant staff communication and compliance features and management at centre and national levels to keep a finger on the pulse.

Cons:

OWNA is a new and emerging platform - the work done so far is brilliant. We have asked for some features that are yet to happen as the company has grown so quickly and there is not always the people power at the office to get to all tasks e.g. not providing a break down of the carry over balance which creates extra work for centre directors to interpret a family invoice.

IF YOUR NOT USING OWNA YOUR MISSING OUT

Comments: heaps less admin time as normal daily tasks are simplified and completed in less than half the time with OWNA software compared to old school applications. enhanced programming capabilities, and Families LOVE the transparency of OWNA!

Pros:

This product is extremely user friendly and the software integration when we first swapped over was so simple the customer service team handled majority of it. our centre loves the transparency of the app, families love it, we are able to provide enhanced programming cycle compared to all other apps on the market.

Cons:

i would like to see some additional report features added. for example a 1.8% tool, and customisable booking sheets. however in saying this OWNA has shown a strong commitment to continuous improvement and every time we take a new idea to them they run with it and within weeks/months we see it implemented in the app. i hate Fat Zebra they are hard to work with compared to other direct debit companies.

Best move ever!

Comments: We are just starting to realise many benefits - which include time saving features. We have also been able to move a lot of our paper based practices to OWNA, which works in well with our sustainability practices. I love that the support team are always on hand, and work hard to resolve any issues - including our user-knowledge, or lack thereof!

Pros:

Moving over to OWNA has been incredible. We are still not using all the features, but definitely moving towards this. OWNA has and will enable us to move all our processes into the same software, rather than using different platforms for different functions. It literally has just about all we need and more. The platform is simple, clean, and functional. The team at OWNA are so responsive to needs and suggestions, and seem to work around the clock to ensure that their program does everything we need (and want) it to do.

Cons:

There are definite issues with the accounts side of the software, and flaws that need to be ironed out.

Alternatives Considered: QikKids and Xplor

Reasons for Choosing OWNA: We were becoming ever frustrated with our provider, and had seen many positive comments around OWNA - and when we checked it out for ourselves, we were definitely impressed! We did not come in eyes closed - we knew we were dealing with a team new to some aspects (Child Care Subsidy) - but we also watched as they moved quickly to make improvements and iron out issues.

Switched From: Storypark and QikKids

Reasons for Switching to OWNA: OWNA is definitely a superior product, AND the team seem to be committed to making the best software on the market, and not losing their vision of this, and their responsiveness to us as customers as they grow.

Industry Leader. Innovative and Always Improving.

Comments: We were one of the first during the pilot and have been a dedicated customer ever since.
Relationship with Owna goes up to management level.
Feedback and response to issues or improvement requests are dealt with on a personal level.
Always adding community requested feature or even custom features for our specific needs.

Pros:

Real-time updates on attendance and ratios. Privacy and security-aware. Meets regulations and tight policies in the industry. Intuitive and easy to use interface. Platform independent and customised apps for Android/Apple devices.

Cons:

The product is great but there are still areas/processes that we believe can be integrated to reduce paperwork and improve efficiencies in our industry. We're sure these will come in time but would be good to have now.

Alternatives Considered: QikKids

Reasons for Choosing OWNA: Cost savings. One app vs multiple apps. Platform independent. Can use on a mobile device via the app or via a web browser. New functionality improved efficiency of business. One dashboard for a birds-eye view of everything.

why we use OWNA

Comments: Overall we have had a very good experience with OWNA and have recommended it to lots of people. Thank you for the wonderful service that you supply.

Pros:

changing to OWNA has completely change the way we do paperwork at our centres. It has saved so much time in administration costs. Parents, Staff and Admin all love OWNA and how easy it is to use, the information they are able to produce and the open lines of communication between everyone. OWNA Support have always been excellent and we have never had to wait very long for an answer/resolution to our problems.

Cons:

Transition from other programs can take a little bit for staff/parents to get their heads around. But once they get to know the program and all the features they begin to really enjoy it. The QIP part of the program could be easier to use. It is a bit frustrating in its current format.

Changing to OWNA

Comments: Excellent for providing staff accountability and making sure tasks are completed properly and on time.
It has also made it easier to manage our compliance by having records stored in the one place.
The change over from KeptMe was very easy and it is a better price too.

Pros:

The OWNA software is very intuitive and easy to use. The support is incredible, we receive almost instant replies to our queries at any time of the day and night. The software has a vast array of features that allow me to manage all of my documentation, WHS, HR and regulatory requirements in one platform. Previously, I had three different types of software to manage my QIP, HR and documentation. It allows me to centralize my tasks, allocate them to employees and provides accountability to ensure that they are all completed on time.

Cons:

The turorials are too long and need to be broken up into specific tasks so that you aren't searching through an hour long video to find 30 seconds worth of information. Similarly, the online manual could also contain a more comprehensive list of FAQs and tasks so that we aren't constantly having to call the helpdesk to find what we need. The documentation system could be enhanced by linking observation follow ups directly to the future program. There are also some other features that could be added to the documentation tool to make it less onerous when creating the program. KeptMe had a better programming system. We are waiting until all of the kinks get ironed out before we use it for attendances and CCS

Great App for Early Childhood Educators

Comments: Overall experience has been fabulous. Customer Service is good, they are helpful.

Pros:

It has most things educators need. There is still a lot to wrap your head around but unfortunately, you need to be able to access desktop in order to do this.

Cons:

- You can't upload as many photos as you like - You have to access the desktop in order to make changes to children's attendance - It can be inconvenient when needing to access desktop to do certain things - You can't pin more than one post. This can be a challenge when making important announcements for Families.

Excellent Child Care Centre Application

Comments: We are quite happy with the OWNA product and the support team. We have not moved to the CCS feature because of concern with glitches. We plan to move in the future when the system is stable.

Pros:

Parents have access to real time information (daily menu, curriculum, meal consumption, sleep times). The OWNA platform reduces the need for paper-based records and the educators have access to record information online (incident reports, checklists, medication records, hazard reports, evacuation drills, etc). Responsive support team.

Cons:

Rostering feature is not flexible so we do not utilise. The QIP feature is not well developed for our usage. Occasional glitches.

Comments: Not looking at any other software as super happy with OWNA

Pros:

I like OWNA as it is easy to use and I can find what I need when I need it. It is customisable so I can set it up to suit my centre, its not one size fits all software. The educators and families can all use the software with ease through both the app and the online portal. The dashboard on the portal for the administrator gives a great overview of the day so I can see who is signed in both children and educators, check our the centre calendar and events and has direct links to other important reports such as children incident and medication reports. The best part about OWNA is the customer service which is amazing, I always get a quick response and they take all feedback on board to create a great product.

Cons:

I don't have many cons as when there is a problem it is sorted out really quickly.

Great product

Comments: OWNA lets me have an overall snapshot of what's happening in the centre at one glance. It has also reduced paper and improved transparency for all team members.

Pros:

This software has it all. Everything in one place and very user friendly. The support is excellent!

Cons:

Some aspects are a bit cumbersome to navigate - having to click through multiple links to get some information. It would help to be able to see which child a parent related to - especially when they make a comment or like a post or especially when we have to add their name to "Family account". Invoicing could also be better.

Comments: Your team are the best and I especially love the fact that the team always call back if they don’t have the answers to my myriad of questions.

I have felt really supported and am so happy that I have made the switch.

Pros:

Just want to give you a huge THANK YOU for your great software, but more importantly for the awesome help and support that your team have been providing over the past few months whilst our service has transitioned over from another software.

Cons:

I would like there to be an easy-print one page A4 daily rolls for admin purposes.

OWNA

Comments: OWNA has allowed us to be relatively paper free, from programming, observations, reflections, staff and parent input. OWNA allows famillies to see what is happening with their child in real time, for example when nappies changes, how many portions of food at meal times, how long their child has slept for. Families can see photos of their childs day and management can monitor ratios, rosters and events at the centre.

Pros:

There is not a thing that OWNA does not do that is required for compliance in the Early Childhood Industry. From the setup and support to everyday use it has been and is the easiest platform for Educators and families.

Cons:

There is nothing that I dont like about OWNA

The future of CCS management software

Comments: I came on board in a service at the beginning of their OWNA journey. The way that the transition from the previous software to OWNA was managed was not ideal and there was a lot that I needed to clean up in the process. The support I received from OWNA through the whole process was incredible however. Now that it is up and running properly it has made my life so much easier and it is by far the best childcare software I have ever used.

Pros:

I love that OWNA is a one stop shop for not only all of our CCS management needs but also for our compliance. The software is very user friendly and the tech support is by far the most impressive of any software I have used. I also love the responsiveness to the needs of the industry with new features being introduced as need arises.

Cons:

It is only a minor con and it is getting better because of the responsiveness to industry needs. Most of the features are set up with the needs of long day care in mind. Sometimes our needs in outside school hours care differ in the features we need. This has greatly improved in the time I have been using the software as the developers have learnt more about the differences in needs for different service types. The developers always take on board suggestions positively and implement suggestions in a timely manner where they can.

Easily the best choice

Comments: The team are really responsive and make it easy to be an advocate. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is a great role model for developers, I really appreciate his accessibility and commitment.

Pros:

One stop shop for compliance and programming makes life so much easier.

Cons:

Rostering and payroll integration is my pet hate. It is too far from the relative ease of competitors such as Deputy.
