Pros:

Most features are very easy to use and are web based. This allows us to use mobile devices at the events and have full use of all features.

Cons:

The only thing I struggle with in BetterUnite is the reports, but they are currently working on completely revamping their reporting.

BetterUnite is the platform I've been searching for.

Comments: No-cost donor management, fundraising platform, easy connection to payments and mailchimp.

Pros:

As a marketing consultant for nonprofits, I have spent many hours searching for a platform that will provide a robust donor CRM and also connect with fundraising and events. BetterUnite does all of that and more - at no cost to the organization!

Cons:

Everything that I've thought that could be made better, I've contacted the Better Unite team and they've adjusted the platform or walked me through some alternate options - no complaints here!

Comments: We love BetterUnite. The entire team has been amazing to work with and the annual subscription rate is affordable for our non-profit.

Pros:

The BetterUnite Team is very responsive and will work very hard to ensure we have everything we need to be successful. Their training is on point and is included in the package - not charged extra like other fundraising platforms.

Cons:

I would like reporting to be more robust and have filters that will enable us to segment according to event, or according to fund. This is a work in progress.

They are the BEST

Comments: From the beginning, we have been impressed with how friendly and support of the staff has been. Anytime we’ve had a question or needed extra support, they were [sensitive content hidden] on the spot to help us. We will be using better unite for years to come.

Pros:

Customer service, friendly staff, extra support and patient with all of our questions

Cons:

I do not have any complaints. We were used to using a different platform so there has been a learning curve on this platform

We have used this software to run a crowdfunding campaign and fundraising event.

Pros:

That it is free (we are a small nonprofit), has lots of functionality, and is easy to use. There have been a few hiccups or errors with the software but the IT team have been quick to reply and fix the issues.

Cons:

That it automatically adds a donation to the platform upon checkout instead of allowing the donor to choose to donate. And you have to know to uncheck the donation, kind of misleading.

Comments: Top notch. Working with [sensitive content hidden] has been amazing. [sensitive content hidden] has the right customer management skills to advance an organization's needs quickly.

Pros:

It's an E2E solution that knowingly covers all the aspects of charity and fundraising events with easy to use interfaces. It connects to most major payment systems and is widely known as a fundraising platform.

Cons:

I would like to see a commercial model where the client brings their own merchant processing solution using Authorize.net for example.

Pros:

I LOVE that we have a dedicate representative that will help us when we have needs for our events. It is so wonderful to have the same person help us and help us grow our organization to serve the needs of our families.

Cons:

I would love to see a function where we can set up our branding in all areas of customization. This would be a great addition to an already wonderful product!

Good platform for the less technical

Comments: We arrived at Better Unite after going through about four other platforms. I have five decades of IT experience and my professional opinion is that Better Unite was developed was designed by someone who understands the needs of a professional fundraiser. The other platforms we abandoned appear to have been developed by people that understood databases but not fundraising or the technical level of the people who would be using it.

Pros:

User interface for this type of platform is the best I have tried. Because it requires less technical expertise to use more people can be involved lessening the workload on all. No regular/fixed platform fee, they only collect when you collect. The fundraiser templates look professional and require very little work to create. The fundraising templates can be modified to match our branding.

Cons:

I hate putting cons in here compared to how bad I consider their competition. Like all of these types of platforms they are trying to be a one size fits all so occasionally there are things I would like changed but realize they are not there to tailor their product to our specific wants.

Pros:

My favorite thing about BetterUnite is their customer service! My account representative is always available to assist me with any issues I am facing and if she is not free at the moment she gets me in contact with another account representative that can help as soon as possible.

Cons:

The only thing I struggle with in BetterUnite is the reports, but they are currently working on completely revamping their reporting. This is another thing I appreciate about BetterUnite, they are always improving and always receiving feedback and input from their clients.

Comments: BetterUnite was really easy to set up with our BetterUnite rep Selin. She was very helpful in walking us through the platform assessing our needs and showing us all the functions BetterUnite has to offer. We had multiple meetings throughout our planning period that were focused on specific topics which was helpful to provide our deliverables and to stay on track.

Pros:

BetterUnite is pretty user-friendly. It was pretty accessible through the admin side and easy to update. The registration was easy and made check-in and guest participation easy for our guests.

Cons:

The only pain point I can think of at the moment might be that the fair market value or tax language provided after registering an offline purchase is not customizable. There is a function to select payment types such as DAFs, which would be counted as non-tax-deductible, but in BetterUnite, the confirmation donors received included tax language, when it shouldn't have and I wasn't sure how to remove that.

Silver Lining from the Pandemic

Pros:

During the pandemic we knew we had to pivot our normal fundraising event to something virtual and BetterUnite was the perfect solution. It offered us the ability to still have an auction, still have a paddle raise, and still have sponsors while not having to do anything in person. It was so successful that we have changed all of our annual events into hybrid events with the auction and giving remaining online. It has streamlined our events for not just us but for all of our guests making donating and bidding easier than ever.

Cons:

There is not much to dislike about BetterUnite! The Live Online Auction can be tricky when doing it hybrid, people bidding online and in person. But that could be a user error, haha. We have chosen to display the Live auction items on BetterUnite and accept proxy bids, but we do not have Live Auction open to bids online.

Pros:

This is my first time to be involved with BetterUnite. I honestly do not know what I would do without the support of [sensitive content hidden]. She is ALWAYS ready to help!! She is extremely prompt with her responses. She is professional, calm and always comes with a smile. When I have had a request, she has fulfilled it and answered my questions fully. She has never made me to feel like any question is stupid, and answers with a wonderful attitude the same question.

Cons:

At this point, I can not think of anything.

1) Ease and intuitive use. Our volunteers can hop in and get to work with very little training. 2) Depth of platform. BetterUnite "gets" nonprofits and we've watched as they have expanded the program to respond with tools that help nonprofits advance.3) Customer service. Excellent. 10,000 stars!

Works well for our events

Comments: We have been very pleased with the functionality and reliability of the service.

Pros:

Most features are very easy to use and are web based. This allows us to use mobile devices at the events and have full use of all features. Support is unbelievably good.

Cons:

There are many ways to do things. For example, there are at least 5 different buttons, links and selectors to get to "manage event". Having consistency here would help casual users (like our volunteers) be more proficient.

Best Customer Support EVER!

Comments: I work for a nonprofit and we used BetterUnite for a silent auction. I have zero experience setting up silent auctions but was asked to set one up for a music festival that was happening over Labor Day weekend. I have a friend who has used BetterUnite give me a very brief overview of how to add items to the auction but that was really it. He gave me a contact to call at BetterUnite in case I had further questions (boy did I!!).Fast forward to the Friday before a major US holiday (and the day the auction was set to go live). People were frantically texting me asking me for a link to the auction or a QR code they could use and I had NO IDEA how to get that info. I called the contact at BetterUnite that my friend gave me, [sensitive content hidden]. At the time, I had no idea [sensitive content hidden] is the [sensitive content hidden] of the company. I left a voice mail early in the afternoon (again on the Friday before a major US holiday) and [sensitive content hidden] called me back within an hour. I told her my situation and she very patiently walked me through the steps to get our account completely set up and helped me get our auction live. Without [sensitive content hidden] help, this most certainly would not have happened. And we ended up raising about $1000 which for a very small nonprofit is a lot of money. Best customer support experience ever!

Pros:

I used the silent auction and adding items was super easy and very intuitive.

Cons:

I love everything about this company! Very user friendly and intuitive and there's great guidance all along the way for next steps. And the customer support is fantastic!

Comments: Overall it's been a wonderful and easy experience. Being able to track guests, manage raffle and auction and accept donations in one place has made our event so efficient!

Incredible. I loved it.

Pros:

It's usability and the look. Also that it's free is amazing. Setting up my campaign was really easy and it looked great without any effort on my part. Now I get updates as I raise money and it's exciting.

Cons:

Nothing so far- I was up and running in under 20 minutes, including looking for images. I don't think I will need customer support, but as soon as I signed up I got an email from the BetterUnite team offering to help.

Pros:

I like the contacts system, call lists, and grouping options. I really like the ability for donors and organizations to create their own campaigns and fundraisers.

Cons:

As a new company, they are still working out kinks. I have had more than one issue importing contacts into my account.

Comments: It was a great experience and I will definitely use it again next year

Pros:

[sensitive content hidden] is the only reason I was able to use this product and she is 100% the reason I will use it again. As a volunteer, I needed something that was easy to use and quick. Although I needed help often (mainly because I was unsure of myself), she was willing to work with me regularly.

Cons:

I could not figure out how much money we were making DURING the auction.
