Core functions are great - would be better with more
Comments: Best experience hands down comes from the account management team, which deals with our issues swiftly and effectively. Almost every SAAS has 1 or 2 key differentiators, but Productive stands out in terms of their support and dedication to ensuring a positive customer relationship experience
Pros:
Everything is all in one place without the need of multiple softwares
Cons:
Some features that are a no-brainer (eg. tracking non-billable proposal hours) should have been able to be directly tracked from the sales function instead of having to be tracked as internal hours. But these are nitty gritty details which should make way to Productive sometime in the near future

Every tool you need for an agency
Comments: It's a great tool and the only one we found that ticks all the boxes for our business.
Pros:
Fully-featured with a continually improving product roadmap and excellent customer support.
Cons:
Sometimes it's difficult to work out how much budget is remaining as the calculations don't always tally with my own figures. Some nuances in how the calculations are done I think. Some features have started to move to the 'premium' tier.
Disappointing reporting clutter and slow service
Comments: Very bad. They promise a lot, but it seems that it's not possible to actually produce the reports that they promise to be able to.
Pros:
What I like most about productive is the Dark mode. They nailed that frature.
Cons:
Useless reports. Customer service. Clutter of code. Buggy.
Highly Recommended
Comments: Like mentioned earlier I really like the general feel of the app. It feels stable, and polished with every detail.
Pros:
It feels stable and polished. Jira integration works very well compared to Clockify for example.
Cons:
The UI might be simpler. The way how I use it doesn't require all the bells and whistles. What I'm essentially doing is logging the time for given tasks within projects.

Fantastic Support Team
Comments: I love it. I've looked at other tools, and turned them down simply because of their lack of reporting and all-in-one capabilities. Despite smaller features like automation, note taking, and dependency being really attractive.
Pros:
We love that this tool is agency management in one tool! We can track projects / tasks, as well as record employee PTO, schedule work to manage capacity, and bill ALL IN THE SAME PLACE. Customer support is responsive and immensely helpful. Especially for explaining the parts of the tool that applies to areas outside our expertise (like finances).
Cons:
The list layout leaves things to be desired in terms of design and organization of information. Would love to see automation, and the ability to mark tasks as dependent on / blocked by others come to the tool. The note taking tool is really basic and not co-write-friendly.
Being intuitively productive
Comments: Productive has been my go to product from the start to track my time, manage my budgets and create my invoices. Having 1 product that can do all these things (and more) gives me, as the end user, a peace of mind.
Pros:
The intuitiveness. Even the most complex features of the product are being made very easy to use.
Cons:
Honestly, none I can think of currently.

Productive Has Made Us More Productive
Comments: It has been a good experience and I recommend it to many people. It can get a little cumbersome once you have a lot of data in there and we still haven't been able to transition over our Quickbooks sync to Productive. I would like some more training during times we can attend.
Pros:
I love that we can set up project budgets and track our progress against them in real-time so we can better allocate resources and determine our profit margins. I also appreciate that the company has a robust roadmap and is constantly adding new features. It is fundamentally easy to set up on the project side. There is a ton of flexibility with different views you can have for tasks. The ways you can slice and dice your data in here is a major win for agency owners.
Cons:
The biggest thing we need is a way for our clients to submit tickets to our team so that we can tie it back to the project and if needed, add a new project scope, but there is no interface for clients to submit requests to us via Productive. We haven't found any ticketing software that will integrate with Productive either (maybe by Zapier, but we'd really just prefer to stay in Productive as much as possible).I would also like to be able to see more history on staff time off/vacation time. Once a year has been completed, the data got removed when their new allocation was given. The Dashboard view can use some improvement based on the priority of actions. I would also like to see time chronically from when my timer was started so I can see when it happened during the day, but if you use the timer feature and then switch to the calendar view, it throws all the entries to the top of the day for some reason.
Very all-round and effective projectmanagement app
Comments: I'm very happy with Productive and all its features, also the contact with the support is always very engaging!
Pros:
Productive shines in its range of features that just click with our wishes in managing projects. It keeps track of alle important aspects of tasks, budgeting, time, invoicing and reports we need to do our best job for our customers.
Cons:
Productive could become better when it has a translation in Dutch, for our customers who are not as tech savvy as we are. The way projects can be invoiced could get some improvements, also bulk editing budgets.
Alternatives Considered:
Gave me a running start
Comments: I use Productive for my day-to-day operations and was able to do an integration with Trello using their API. This makes my invoicing a breeze and allows me to give time reports to my customers. There is a ton of other features (sales pipeline, scheduling, financial reports) I am not using, but just for the small part I am using, it is a big time saver.
Pros:
Productive has: - comprehensive feature set - ease of use - a tutorial to get you familiar with the different modules of the product - a decent price - customers can access the platform (when you grant them access) - an API to allow integrations with other components - responsive support (some bugs get fixed really fast)
Cons:
- some structure elements may not be an exact match to your business (like with any product) - support is only during business hours, being a solo entrepreneur, problems don't always happen between 9-5 Monday-Friday - support could benefit from a ticketing system instead of a chat-based system - the task component have few features when compared with Trello. Strange for a company that brands itself as "more powerful than Trello and simpler to use than Jira" (https://www.productive.io/tour/project-management/).
A great move!
Pros:
- Features catered to agency needs - Great customer service - Budget management - Simplified time tracking - Budgeting and invoicing in one place
Cons:
- Lack of very top level resourcing (overview of at least 4 months within one view)
Perfect tool for project management, budgeting and invoicing
Pros:
•This tool is fantastic from project tracking, budgeting, time tracking and scheduling. •This is an all in one tool. With features that can sync information to different tools, it's very promising and efficient. •Productive support team listens to feedback and quickly respond to inquiries.
Cons:
Having tried other project management software, I am grateful to be able to use Productive and there is no single thing I don't like.
A system that works
Comments: Love it, total clarity over clients, projects, campaigns, staff, performance and profibility
Pros:
Productive was easy to set up, user friendly and responsive to issues
Cons:
Still some lack of integration and functionality on the CRM but improving. Would be great to integrate to sender.net or Mailchimp etc
The most feature-rich, easy to use PM we've ever used
Comments: Overall, we are extremely happy with this tool. We tested 30 other products before committing to this, and its the best business decision we've made.
Pros:
We became an early client of these folks a few years ago. They are constantly rolling out new features, including a lot of specific requests we've made to them. They ALWAYS respond to our requests and update us on their status. They have, far-and-away, the most responsive customer service of any SAAS product we subscribe to. And the product is head and shoulders above any of the other tools we used over the years (we've trued dozens including all the big ones you've heard of)
Cons:
It's meant to be an end-to-end solution for small-ish agencies. So beyond project management, there's financial reporting, invoicing, expense tracking (including Quickbooks integration), and sales tracking. The Sales tool is probably the least developed. It works great, and we use it, but it would be nice if it were more tightly integrated with the rest of the tool so revenue forecaster would be more accurate. There are a number of customization features, so were able to cobble together an adaquate tool (we previously used both Salesforce and Hubspot)
A great tool for agency work
Pros:
Productive is a very powerful tool covering basically all the tasks and processes related to project management, account management, reporting, planning of resources, managing the sales pipeline and many more. It feels very modern and easy to use with really powerful features. Also, the product is constantly being improved with an active customer service.
Cons:
It takes some time to really onboard everyone and use it as a day to day tool. But that would probably be the case with every new tool introduced to the organization. Thus, not all the features must be used or be introduced at the same time.
Happy client
Comments: great! would recommand it to every starting agency.
Pros:
it's still growing. Productive develops new features and keeps evolving. Client support and chat is really nice. They try to help you within a day.
Cons:
Scheduling is till pretty hard, and you can't track hours on sales efforts for a client wihout making a project.
Alternatives Considered:
Great Product that outperforms a lot of competitors
Comments: Great and would recommend over other platforms
Pros:
UI, UX, Covers a lot without overcomplicating the experience. Competitive cost, great support service. Constant updates and features getting added.
Cons:
(Small) Still fine tuning in some areas, so not everything is perfect , but lots of roll out of good updates which shows its only going to get better
A growing tool that grows with you
Pros:
I love that you can use it from time capturing to project and task management . The tool is not perfect, but it allows you to provide feedback and ask for things that are necessary for your business to grow. Staff support is 100%! Thanks for all you do Productive and for all your fast responses.
Cons:
It's not perfect, but it is learning from our needs. I know it will grow into an all-in-one tool.
Simple, fuss-free and meets all our needs as a growing agency.
Pros:
My main issue in the past with other software was that they were too complex, had too many features or had too much of a learning curve. Productive on the other hand is easy to get your head around and start working with from day one. Our team has now been using Productive for almost 2 months and we're active on it daily. The main features we use are creating sales (which is essentially leads), creating projects (in our case new client projects), calculating project costs, creating tasks and assigning them to team members and sharing the project with clients via the dashboard. What's more is that Productive have outstanding customer service, I actually just received a letter in the mail today written by their team which proves they're ready to go above and beyond for their users. Lastly, their price point is unbeatable. The Pricing page says it all and compared to the other software out there, Productive is easily the best value for money.
Cons:
Small bug with the hourly rate when creating a new project.
Great product
Pros:
Really great task management software with good ui. Regularly adding features and improving the product. I am a big fan.
Cons:
Better ui for sales would be good. Overall though the product is valuable for my team.
Review
Comments: We are implementing our entire project journey in Productive, as said above from sales towards invoicing. This goes quite smoothly, although fixing errors in the process is not always easy.
Pros:
If everything is configured properly, the flow of a project is very easy, from sales over project management towards invoicing, everything works very nicely.
Cons:
It is not very customizable, although they are working on it.
It's an OK Product
Comments: I think it is great for the overall management of project and tracking time, but as I stated above not great for fixes on the conversion end.
Pros:
It has a great option to track your time management per project which is great for reporting purposes.
Cons:
I am the tester for our conversions and there is not a good way for the conversion person and me to see what has not been done on fixes for our conversion and what I need to test. We used Jira for this in the past and it was a much better tool for us in this capacity.
A must-have business tool for a software development agency.
Comments: Financial insight, time tracking, invoicing etc.
Pros:
I love the time tracking, budgeting, reporting, invoicing features. From a managers standpoint, this software covers all our business needs. The reporting system gives us an in-depth review in terms of cost/ revenue structure, profitability, time spent, project success, employee utilization etc. The data really helps us make better business decisions.
Cons:
Our developers struggle using the task management feature, and we're currently developing a new framework that can easily be used in Productive.
Innovative all-in-one solution for agencies in the creative industry
Pros:
- All-in-one solution - The help/support of the team - Reporting options and financial insights - The clear flow from sales pipeline to project
Cons:
- Invoicing/quotation features limited - Dashboard view is not visual/customizable enough - Project management features are limited - Roles and user rights are not customizable enough - The Desktop App is more 'buggy' then the browser version - Integration with local finance software (Yuki)
A great tool that gets the work done, while being easy to use.
Comments: Better insight in our business.
Pros:
UX details that make everyday tasks like logging time simpler. And, over time, getting more and more simple, taking fewer and fewer clicks to perform the desired action.
Cons:
It's "opinionated" in the sense of data/information architecture (clients/budgets/expenses/invoices/etc. - you have to follow the logic of the application).
Powerful.
Comments: good.
Pros:
Productive is a good product to track projects and time spent on it.
Cons:
Strict methodology brings some rigidity.
