Great all-in-one product for busy teams

4.0 last year

Comments: Keela has been great. Amazing customer service.

Pros:

I like the built-in features, like email marketing, so that I don't have to worry about using other plug-ins (like mail-chimp for example). I purchased Keela as our CRM when I was the only employee in the organization, so having a streamlined product that could function as many things (email marketing, donor management, email donors, memberships, event registration, great customer support, etc) was important do to my limited capacity.

Cons:

Keela does everything well, but not perfectly. There are some usability issues that slow down workflow slightly (e.g. extra buttons to select when scrolling through the calendar to select a date of a donation).

Hearty Recommendation

4.0 last year

Comments: We've loved having Keela since the beginning. It is an integral part of running our company and the software does everything we need it to do.

Pros:

Customer service is amazing. Constantly updating to make better. Very easy to navigate and use.

Cons:

Not a fan of paid add-ons. Wish they were included but understand why they aren't. SendGrid integration doesn't work with Wix and causes a lot of bounced emails for us.

Alternatives Considered: Bloomerang

Reasons for Choosing Keela: Easy of use! Needed something that was intuitive and easy for everyone.

Switched From: Sumac

Reasons for Switching to Keela: Value for price, ease of use, server location, origin of company, reputation, customer service

A reasanably good software, with usability downfalls

2.0 4 years ago

Comments: It is positive, but definetely not ideal. The platform was sold to us as basic but powerful, in reality it is basic and need a lot of work, in some instances to get the basics correct (i.e. invoices, integration with payment gateways etc.). Keela lacks a lot of key features we already provided feedback on. We do feel that Keela priority has been in functionalities that are tertiary and not a necessity (i.e. have details of transactions going to stripe description, invoices being more customisable, being able to edit recuring donor accounts without having to recreate them etc ). Those can be very frustrating and we had went backwards in our internal processes, specially with accounts, due to the platform lack of basic business customisation, things we had in our previous software.

Pros:

Keela is happy to listen to customers. They are quick to provide support and the platform offer the basics needed.

Cons:

The basics are not well polished. Usability is a big issue and the navigation is clunky - we find ourselves going back and forwards a lot, some would be easily fixed with a simple "right click to open in new window" but that is not available. We end up using the export feature way more often than we should in order to get the data we need. We have provided a list of cons in the past.

Alternatives Considered: Kindful

Reasons for Choosing Keela: The usabily was even clankier than Keela, and the software was really old and had no updates.

Reasons for Switching to Keela: They never got back to us. The software seem to have more features we need and more complete, but their sales were terrible getting back to us so we assume, if the sales is bad imagine the support.

Thank you for your review Rafael, we appreciate the transparent feedback. Over the past year, you and your team have provided our Product Team with really insightful feedback and have suggested really great features to enhance the system. These absolutely do not go unnoticed! Our team is working super hard to make sure we continue to build a system that meets the needs of our users. While some features may take longer than others to build out based on the level of complexity, know that your ideas are being heard and discussed amongst our Product Team. We look forward to you and your team continuing to share innovative ideas with us to support us in building an even better system. Thanks for joining us along the innovation journey :)

Keela for Non-profit

5.0 4 months ago

Pros:

Keela software stands out for its user-friendly interface, making it easy for nonprofits like ours to manage their operations efficiently. It offers many donor management features, including tracking donations, managing contacts, and communications tools, all of which we use frequently. Additionally, Keela's timely customer support is always appreciated. The software also integrates easily with tools like QuickBooks and PayPal. Overall very pleased with Keela.

Cons:

One thing challenge I've had with Keela is its contact merging feature. While it does help identify and merge duplicate contacts, the process can be quite cumbersome. Additionally, once contacts are merged, they cannot be unmerged, which means I have to be very careful during the merging process.

Keela keeps us organized

5.0 last year

Comments: Our team has used Keela on a daily basis to stay organized as a team, manage volunteers and donors, track goals, and send out communications. The customer support is great whenever we encounter an issue and we love that new features are continuously being added.

Pros:

Team access helps keep everyone on the same page regarding fundraising and communications. We love that we can see our volunteers, donors, campaigns and communications all in one place.

Cons:

As we grow as an organization and gain more contacts we need to pay more for our subscription which isn't easy. It's a tool we use daily, and at this point, we need this type of software to operate and stay organized, but it can be challenging to find funding that will cover the cost.

Keela is Easy

4.0 last year

Comments: In the time I have used Keela I have had no issues with it. The ease of use is great! You can input donations directly into Keela without using a spreadsheet and then importing. Businesses are listed separately with associated contacts attached to them. Finding and changing information of a donor is quick and easy.

Pros:

It is easy to navigate and is very user friendly.

Cons:

Some items that we flag with donations were not able to be flagged as we did before without setting up a separate segment.

Capterra Keela Review

4.0 last year

Comments: With Keela being fairly new for us still, everyday we use it we are learning new things that can be done within Keela! It has been a bit of an adjustment but we see lots of potential with Keela.

Pros:

I personally love how customizable Keela can be depending on the user. It's also nice that there are many functions that can be taken advantage of in Keela, keeping most of our Data in 1 place instead of spread out between multiple products.

Cons:

With the amount of Data that was in our old database, we have had a hard time with the transition of correct data into Keela from our old server. It has taken more time then we have envisioned to get everything into Keela from Kindful. Additionally, I have personally had issues with importing taking up to 6 hours with Keela.

Keela as a Non-Profit (Mosque)

4.0 4 months ago

Pros:

The integreatted forms and communications feature has been my faviourte part of keela so far. In our previous setup we would be boucing between mailchimp, eventbrite and google forms, but now all of that has been collected in one place making it easy to use on a daily basis. It is also a huge benefit that we can add multiple team members to keela, this allows us to give employess access to only what they need to manage.

Cons:

So far we have had problems with the lack of integrations with softwares other than stripe. Although the online integration of stripe is usefull we are still required to upload payments made of debit machines (Clover) and e-transfers. If Keela were to offer integration with stripe terminals this would make things much smoother for smaller organizations which operate on less man power.

Good for it's intended use

5.0 4 months ago

Pros:

I like that it is very simple and user friendly. Easy to learn. It does what we need it for which is to log our donations as they come in and keep them organzied.

Cons:

The inconvenience of having to make updates/changes when it's the same change for multiple logs. If an impact area needs to be changed to something else or moved under a different category, there is no "select all" or "move" button (think emails) and so I would have to individually go through every single log to make the change which requires several steps.

Amazing product and customer service support!

5.0 last year

Comments: I enjoy Keela as I used Blackbaud Raiser's Edge for many years and it was horrible.

Pros:

The migration process was smooth and the customer service support is quick and efficient. It is also user-friendly and easy to for donations processing.

Cons:

The access form a mobile app/iPhone is not super easy. MFA process is tedious and slow.

Simple, fairly comprehensive but could use some upgrades

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Overall we have been happy with Keela. We chose it above others because we could send our emails and keep up our mailing list in the same software. The emails are somewhat limited but do the job. I am not an experienced computer person, so the software needs to look inviting and be easier to understand and operate for me to like it. Keela was easier than most we looked at.

Pros:

It is fairly easy to do the basic functions on Keela.

Cons:

I don't often have to pull reports, but when I do it is cumbersome and challenging. It is better than the previous software we used but I like to use the Tags to identify different groups of people and it takes a while to figure out how to do this each time.

Keela is King of CRM

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Very enthused and satisfied with our experience with keela. We have gained greater customer insights and the donor tax receipt system is very much improved from our previous software

Pros:

The software is easy to use and has a number of features. The customer support is outstanding which is valuable because there are so many features.

Cons:

The communications software and integration with the segments and tags can be cumbersome and requires more steps than other programs like mailchimp. However, Keela is constantly improving its offerings and we see these as minor compared to the benefits

Keela to supports my nonprofit needs!

5.0 5 years ago

Pros:

I am so happy to have found Keela to supports my nonprofit needs! At first, I was impressed with the sales team and the product presented to me. The team took the time necessary to help me understand the product. They were not pushy and answered all my questions. They are more affordable than competitors with similar functionality. The software is super easy to use. It looks great. The functionality is excellent and is getting better each day. I really love the software. The best thing about Keela is their ongoing customer support. They are prompt when I request help. They answer the questions I ask specifically. They are really lovely! I am on a first-name basis with one of them. Ha. I recommend this software. It has been excellent for our nonprofit. We are a public policy nonprofit.

Cons:

I do not use the dashboard so much and it's not that customizable.

Alternatives Considered: NonProfitEasy and DonorPerfect

Reasons for Choosing Keela: The developer was too busy to make the changes I need and the system was cumbersome.

Reasons for Switching to Keela: The others were too big! I did not feel like I would get the attention I needed. Also, Keela was more affortable and just as impressive as fundly and donor perfect.

Still learning how to use this multi-functional CRM

4.0 last year

Comments: Overall, I think we aren't using Keela to it's potential, but with a Charity that is basically Volunteer operated, it is difficult to have the time to learn all the benefits of this CRM.

Pros:

I like the way it interfaces with QBO and PayPal.

Cons:

I find trying to see contacts very difficult unless you already know the names. Tracking Volunteer time is quite time consuming as well.

Loving my experience so far

5.0 last year

Comments: I now have everything in one place and the reports are a bonus. Makes my life so much easier!

Pros:

I like having everything in one place. I am fairly new to the software, but I am loving it so far and see the value in having this as a donor management system. I wished we would have invested in it sooner.

Cons:

Exporting reports do not always work and I end up doing screen shots in the browser to do my presentations.

Keela Use for a small nonprofit

5.0 last year

Comments: Overall, Keela is a great product for our organization. For the specific features, we use it for, fundraising and donor communication, it works great!

Pros:

The ability to communicate easily to our donors based on certain filters and specifics. Also, the ability to organize our donors into different categories and collect reports based on our overall status as an organization. I also love the ability to create separate campaigns and impact areas and link them easily to our website.

Cons:

The communication forms/templates are rather basic and can be difficult to create a unique email to send out.

Great starter tool, needs more features for more mature orgs

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: This is my second non-profit where I've chosen to install Keela. The first installation worked super well for managing donations and volunteers.
The second installation is for a more mature non-profit, and requires managing donations, memberships year over year, and putting financial entries into quickbooks. This isn't working quite as well because we need more sophisticated features than Keela provides.
I appreciate the support team a lot. They respond quickly and try to find workarounds for us. My feeling is we are probably pushing Keela over its current functionality because we have sophisticated needs, and will have to wait for features to be developed to keep using this tool. I don't want to migrate to yet another tool, having done so much integration work with Keela, and only being 6 months into having converted to Keela from a desktop version of Membertize.
My first installation also provided a lot more data migration support, and the second one, I was on my own.
Overall, it's a friendlier tool than most on the market. Sometimes it can be hard to figure out how to perform a certain function, as not all menus are totally intuitive, or you have to press a special button on the left, etc.
For a start-up org or non-profit just needing to track donations and volunteers, Keela is ideal and far less on the cost than more mature systems.

Pros:

Easy to use, start-up ease, good import process, easy export. It worked really well for me in one non-profit where I needed simple email blasts, to track donations, volunteers, etc. It has a nice automatic email form for donations and memberships. You can search your contacts easily by name or email, and tag groups easily. Tags are easy to organize. The old dashboard did a great job managing campaigns and tracking donations against the goal. For small orgs, this is a good basic starter tool for managing your contacts and interactions.

Cons:

It's missing some things a more mature org needs. We're a neighborhood organization that relies on memberships. There's no renewal process in Keela at this time. You can't search by street name or address fields, so broadcasting to a group on a street is impossible. Sometimes we feel Keela gets 'tired' and can't find a contact we know is in there. So we refresh the browser, and lo and behold, there it is. The integration to mailchimp is weak, and unfortunately, Keela's email blast tool isn't as robust as Mailchimp, so we're forced to stay on Mailchimp. We've had problems with the quickbooks integration not putting funds into the right account. The other problem is reporting. We find the tools not as robust as we'd like for reporting total membership sales data. We've also had to cancel a class of membership and redo it, and that jacked all our reporting for people who'd already taken out memberships under the 'wrong' class. For a larger org with heavier membership management needs, this tool, wasn't as robust as we hoped.

Hi there. Thank you for providing such detailed feedback. This is absolutely outstanding and we are very grateful to you for taking the time. I've crossed referenced some of the missing features you mentioned (such as address filtering and membership reporting) and I can see that they are logged in our Ideas Portal and our Product Team are working hard to introduce them. Thank you for sharing this with us - it's instrumental in our quest for constant improvement! :)

Excellent experience with Keela!

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: We had excellent direction from the Keela team members who walked us through the process. They have gone above and beyond their duties to help.
They cleaned up and imported our data into the Keela system in just seven days!
Our questions were answered quickly and professionally.
We were able to schedule training immediately.
We were up and running on Keela within three weeks and our team is finding Keela to be very user-friendly!

Pros:

Integration with our current business was seamless! We were up and running on Keela in less than three weeks. Keela offers all the functionality necessary for nonprofit management.

Cons:

The only feature missing is a built-in events platform however, EventBrite integrates with Keela. We did not find any other software that offered all the functionality in one place.

Comments: Great produce supported by a fabulous team!

Pros:

Cons:
