Great App - Easy to Use!
Comments: Overall, Whova is a great platform that I've used for work conferences. I enjoy the many different features such as the schedule (that you can add to your personal calendar right from the Whova app), the notifications when a session is starting, speaker powerpoints/materials available for download, community messaging board, and more! Great app!
Pros:
Whova is easy to use and has a lot of helpful features. You can customize your notification preferences and it fulfills several needs all in one place!
Cons:
The only thing I could think of is that at times when using it for a conference, there were powerpoints attached to the speaker's profile and sometimes it wouldn't load correctly.
Whova Review
Comments: Overall, user friendly and allows us to very collaborative with attendees.
Pros:
You can have multiple chat groups and live communication alerts to attendees.
Cons:
Printing of ticket and registration tiers.
It works but is a little overwhelming
Comments: It worked for the conferences I have been a part of, but I would have preferred a simpler option.
Pros:
Whova had lots of options and is flexible to accommodate a wide variety of needs.
Cons:
It is overwhelming and confusing and the scoreboard features seem unnecessary.
Whova Review
Comments: Our end users love the app. From an admin perspective, I love the ease of set up. Now that we are a few conferences in, we're able to leverage previous conference info to build content for the new conference. LOVE THAT!!
Pros:
I love the engagement and set up is very easy
Cons:
It's sometimes challenging getting the right image sizes on the back end. However, it is very helpful that you provide what size they need to be. But, I end up doing a lot of editing and resizing outside of Whova to get the images right.
Great for a Fundraising Event
Comments: I've had a great experience with Whova using it for an annual charity fundraising event and appreciate the attentive customer service I've received.
Pros:
The fee structure of Whova is far and away better than other event platforms I've used. We use Whova for a fundraising event, so lower fees help us raise more money for charity. Everything on the platform is super intuitive and user-friendly.
Cons:
It's not a con, but there are a lot of features I don't use on the platform so I don't necessarily use it to the most of its capabilities.
Alternatives Considered:
Beware of Use
Comments: We will not be using this app again and I recommend that others don't use it either. The sales folks are very much about the upgrades and will nickel and dime you for every small add on. The help desk folks try to be helpful, but are up against the tremendous limitations of the system. This is overall a product that is engineered to make money rather than support the success of the users. We knew this going in and were happy to pay for some add ons, but others were not communicated at all at any point during the process much less in any help or FAQ documents.
Pros:
While there are some pros, the cons by far overshadow anything good about this app. I was excited to use Whova as I used it as an attendee for other events. However, from the admin side, things are not as pleasant.
Cons:
There are many features that cannot be turned off. There are emails that go out to attendees without notice. Definitions vary from the proposal stage to the implementation stage: a speaker is also considered an attendee, although they may not attend and just need to be listed on the paper presentation. The most frequent response from their Help Desk begins with "Unfortunately..."
Whova Great Application
Comments: Excellent Experience, I would like to use it again in the future.
Pros:
It was an easy app to access and navigate. Liked how I was able to personalize it with a profile picture and information about myself to share with other participants and presenters. Liked how participants were able to interact with polls and questions presented by the presenter rather than having to blurt out responses. Liked how I was able to select what presentation I wanted to attend and converted it to my agenda/schedule for the day. The Map was helpful. I liked how we are able to post pictures. Excellent App to use.
Cons:
No negative responses. Overall great app to use.
Whova App for Conference
Comments: Prior familiarity made this an easy experience
Pros:
Having all the information in one place for the duration of the conference.
Cons:
Interface could be more user friendly, sometimes it was challenging to navigate the heading and wasn't clear.
Best Event App I've used since cell phones invented.
Comments: Excellent all-in-one event application. Best I've seen/used.
Pros:
Easy to use and much flexibility. Great cross-referencing of contacts and many ways to categorize them. Meetups, private messaging, both public and "my (selected) agenda", contacts AND speaker content available months after event--best meeting platform of its kind I've seen to date
Cons:
Nothing about the App, but must get your host event planners to communicate that Whova is being used--without knowing who/what Whova is, early invites and messages got quarantined by my company apps.
Great program for mobile meetings
Comments: The layout was very user friendly, even for first time user like me. It was convenient on my mobile. Many different options for the different types of meetings.
Pros:
This program seemed very easy to use both from my laptop and on my cell phone.
Cons:
Not sure at this point in time if I can remember anything specific I did not like.
Alternatives Considered:
WHOVA for virtual conferences
Comments: Love the experience, the sharp images, opportunity for group work and registration app
Pros:
I love the images and the livestreaming . I simply love the ease of registration and the fact that we can keep track of the participants when they register
Cons:
I think the process for payment can be more simple and more easily accessible
Whova Intel
Comments: my overall experience with the Whova app would be that I really enjoyed using this app. It was a fun way to interact with the attendees. I did enjoy using it, but I felt like I was on my phone 24/7 trying to get points to be ahead of people, that I just stopped trying to be in the "TOP 10"
Pros:
the thing I liked most about Whova was that it allowed us to interact with everyone who attended the conference. it made you step out of your comfort zone and join in on events without actually having to join in, which some people have a hard time interacting with people they do not know.
Cons:
since I am new to the Whova app I can't say that there was anything that I liked least about it. It was a learning experience. but if I had to choose something, it would be that it took away from the learning experience from the event. People were more focused on earning points through the classes and it could also be a distraction.
My experience with the Whova App
Comments: I am excited and happy for the opportunity to have used this app. It is such a relief concerning event planning and management.
Pros:
Whova offers opportunities for planning and networking. In the 2024 TBT symposium, I was able to create my schedule from the main agenda and included networking opportunities with other participants based on where we studied and worked. I had a plan of which session I needed to attend and the room numbers where I needed to be. I am also happy with the possibility of taking notes under each session in the agenda.
Cons:
I realized that I had many emails from using the app.
Sr. Information Security Analyst
Comments: This was the first year that I really used Whova. I attempted to explore and use all of the features. Using this app was so much neater than lugging around reams of paper schedules throughout the conference. It was really easy to select what agenda items that I wanted to attend. I also like the ability to take notes for each class (agenda item). Using this app was very intuitive and easy to navigate.
Pros:
Everything that was on the PC version was on the mobile app. Whova was truly a "secretary in my pocket".
Cons:
can't really say...the product performed well.
Excellent platform for symposiums and conferences without leaving home.
Comments: Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and the best part is that you can watch the recordings later to review them better.
Pros:
1-It is an easy-to-use and very intuitive platform. 2-It is free 3-Not only can you convene small symposia, but you could also convene an entire conference.
Cons:
It would be great if presentations (recordings) could be separated by speakers instead of sessions. Otherwise, I would have to watch the entire 40-minute session when I am only interested in a 10-minute presentation, which is in the middle of the recording.
Whova is the best app for conferences and events
Comments: For my business, we expanded our contact list and landed new clients with the help of Whova. As the conference organizer, Whova is invaluable. Easy to use, easy to access for all attendees as no paper forms or pamphlets are needed for the agenda, great tool for networking, etc. I would not do an event without Whova.
Pros:
Whova keeps all the attendee's up to date on what is going on, is easy to reference for the agenda, and is extremely strong on networking and getting attendees to interact.
Cons:
Not all attendees actively use Whova, but that is not an issue with the app.
Staying on track and in touch!
Comments: First thing I did in the morning and after every session. Kept me on track!
Pros:
Provided easy access to the entire agenda and my personal agenda. Provided an easy way to connect with other conference members.
Cons:
Tough at first to find the session evaluations. Had to click to many links and sign in on another platform. Would have been better to imbed the evaluations in each session.
Whova makes my life easier!
Comments: I attend other conferences online throughout the year, and the Whova App is the only app where I feel as though I am actually at the conference. The chatting between colleagues, the question boards, and chat rooms all give a connected feel that I cannot get with any other conference app. Thank you!!
Pros:
It is very user- friendly and easy to figure out. When I am stuck, I can get help easily and quickly.
Cons:
My experience with Whova is limited to the National SCL Conference. I have no complaints at all with the Whova app. It gave me everything I needed to attend the conference and experience the benefits it offered. My only regret is that the SCL does not offer all of its workshops on the Whova app, so I have to be happy with limited options. I imagine this is probably due to the cost of streaming or recording the workshops, so they probably have to limit what is offered. It would be nice to be able to access all of the workshops.
Highly-interactive and networking-enabling app
Comments: Whova is my preferred event app. It has the basics down (floor maps, agendas, etc.) but excels in networking capabilities. Granted, the other visitors have to contribute to make it successful, but the app provides plenty of tools. Direct messaging, polls, and questions to visitors or organizers are all there and are mostly easy to use. I can also view the visitors a few weeks before and four weeks after the show, which is super helpful for preparation and collecting leads.
Pros:
I do multiple trade shows per year. There are a few event apps, but I am delighted to see the event using Whova. This app has the networking part figured out. A few days before each show, I can start networking by messaging other visitors and creating discussion topics (e.g., ask the locals for restaurant recommendations or start discussions around the subject of the event/industry). The gamification to get high on the leaderboard is another way of getting attention. During the event, the app provides real-time updates.
Cons:
The UI could use a bit of an overhaul. It's not necessarily intuitive, and I still find myself in situations where I'm lost ("Where was this poll again?"). By the end of an event, I have it figured out, but I only use the app a few times a year. So, that familiarity degrades before the next event.
Great product and made conference accessible!
Pros:
Very Easy to use and follow. I loved that it had everything I needed in one place and was easy to use on my phone and my computer.
Cons:
When multiple sessions were listed under Asynchronous Sessions, it didn't say "added to my agenda" on the overall. That really isn't a complaint, but it made me type something here!
CBL University
Comments: AMAZING and easy to work with. Like that it breaks it down by the days.
Pros:
layout of the program. I enjoyed the pictures from the event.
Cons:
There is nothing I did not like about Whova
Summary Post Conference
Comments: Very good for a conference. Really liked the scan QR code to get info on participants.
Pros:
Ease of use, good functionality for conferences with plenary speaker, breakout sessions, tracks
Cons:
Sometimes a bit difficult to navigate, but once used it a few times became easy. But at first there was a learning curve. If a short event, may not be enough time to learn all the functions. But I am not a techy so perhaps it was a user issue!
I miss having the Whova community after the event.
Comments: Had a blast. I was honestly worried about not having it when I got home.
Pros:
I actually enjoyed the connection that Whova offered. At first I was very hesitant. thought it was a gimmick or a novelty item. But after connecting with a few people in the chat or messages, I real started to enjoy it. I also met up with some people in person. It drove me to connect in ways that I wouldn't normally wouldn't.
Cons:
It took me a while to figure out the how to navigate it... but I also don't pay attention to on screen instructions or prompts. So that could have been my own doing...
Amazing Addition to any Event
Comments: Overall, I highly recommend the app to anyone facilitating a large event with multiple panels and speaking engagements. It made the event feel more personal. Its a great way to keep people hyped about the event and also create a buzz around all the events and meet-up opportunities.
Pros:
As an event attendee, the Whova app played a pivotal role in my attendance. The app allowed me to prepare well in advance, get familiar with each speaking engagement, and connect with other attendees. All of which, really encouraged my involvement with the week-long events. One great opportunity was the virtual meet-ups that I was able to create. Also, the leaderboard was a great idea. This kept attendees coming back to the app every day if not multiple times a day.
Cons:
Really, the downside was more technical issues. App refresh issues, continuity between app and full website, and things of that nature. Not being able to click on a user's name or photo within chats to get to their full profile. Things that would make it easier to navigate. One major issue was when I set up my virtual meet-up I was not able to find info on how to facilitate. I need to plan things out, so I wasn't sure how the meeting would go. And, quite honestly between the time I made the meet-up to the night before, I forgot that the Whova app would be able to host the virtual meetup so I decided to host it on Zoom.
Good for networking
Comments: i enjoyed it, it was an extension of my conference journey.
Pros:
social media aspect of connecting with people of mutual interests. I messaged a lot of new people on the app, people in the sector who responded back.
Cons:
the display of the sessions needed a bit more mobile friendly viewing/UX design. i was overwhelmed at times, not always, by the need to pick among four sessions and being unable to view the full titles to make that decision.
