### "Random thoughts after five years of use" — 4.0/5

> **Pros**: Having clear visibility of the booking calendar.  Immediate processing of direct bookings as they are made.  Ease of creating and maintaining our website, and of converting bookings from visitors to this website.  Helpful humans on the chat screens.

> **Cons**: There are some screens and data fields in some of the applications which do not actually work or flow into others.  This means I have to find the "real" way to change room rates, etc.&#10;I also find the bot unhelpful.  It suggests a number of ways of doing things (eg, tonight, it gave a list of options for why the way it suggested changing MFA was leading me to an error screen rather than allowing the MFA change.  I followed each of these many options, including clearing the history cache, changing passwords, moving to a different secure network, etc before asking for a human - and then I was able to change the MFA within a few minutes).&#10;The app continues to have some operational issues, making it less useful than it could be and should be.  If it worked and I trusted it, I would use it in preference to the desktop version.&#10;Setup of the "Extra Items" section seems to assume these items are large, so does not easily allow for the sale of smaller items such as gift cards, postcards and other products that might usually not be sold for whole dollar figures.  Removal of the option not to charge GST in this section was not useful.

> **Pros**: Generally it has great features for a small accommodation property and has everything in one spot, easy to use and the phone app has many great features to help when out and about.

> **Cons**: Chat staff not reading what I write. Two months back I had an issue where a direct booking created by the guest is not able to be checked in, modified or payment recorded. I am very experienced with the system but had the live chat staff explain to me how to edit a booking from scratch, ignoring almost all of what I had explained earlier. Eventually the person realised there was a problem and it was escalated. Now I have another direct booking doing the same thing (numerous others in the meantime work fine). Once again the chat person does not understand there is a problem and asked me to perform the same things as last time (e.g. delete the guest email and type it in manually, which is exactly what I had told them would not work). Back around Christmas just gone I had issues with double bookings and it took a lot of effort to get it escalated and for them to identify it was indeed their system. I knew more than the chat staff and I was assured the staff involved would have further education. I now find I have chat staff not reading my messages before responding and it is simply not good enough for the price I pay. There is a lot I love about the Little Hotelier system, but with cheaper options out there I expect better quality service.

> I am so tired of chat staff assuming I don't know how to edit someone's email address in a booking, they even take time to explain to me how to open a booking. I've been using the product longer than they have. I know they get people who don't know how to check a computer is switched on, but I am not one of them and just wish I didn't have to keep repeating myself. I also wish they knew what "I can't edit anything at all in the booking" means rather than suggesting I edit something in the booking (yes, this is what happens each time).

> **Cons**: Have been with Little Hotelier for over 10 years and have been happy with the product, but out of the blue, they have changed the front face of the Booking Engine, which the guests use. It has made it very difficult for the guest to see which accommodation unit is available and when this is important for small/Little businesses as each product you offer is often different and return guests especially like to stay in their favourite. All Little Hotelier is doing is moving all Little Hotelier clients over to the Siteminder Booking engine which is designed for large operators with style accommodation.
