Pros:

Furthermore, Asana's extremely adjustable and attractive GUI makes interacting with it a lot more enjoyable. It was well worth the money.

Cons:

When you set up a new account, you naturally are opted in to the email notifications, which can be really annoying and a pain to remove. My only suggestion to the Asana team would be to change that.

I want all the companies I work at from here on to use ASANA

5.0 last month New

Comments: I was so surprised at how easy it was to learn and to teach to others. Organization was simple and easy to change the status or assign folks. The settings had lots of great options in terms of the best way to remind people of tasks or new taskboards.

Pros:

This made it possible for me to take on a new role that I was lacking in experience. Asana allowed me to up my game and communicate tasks and projects well across teams internally and with external partners.

Cons:

Honestly, nothing to say here this is one I would use for my personal life/work if I was busy enough!

Asana is my best friend at work

5.0 3 weeks ago New

Comments: Overall had a great experience. I was hesitant at first but once i got some hands on, i saw how seamless communication can be through the tool. Not to forget how it even integrates with other software and tools to make it super attractive.

Pros:

The ease of use and the collaboration functionality. Its cool how multiple projects can be handled simultaneously and how teams can be accountable on tasks without having to mark their status or e-mail separately.

Cons:

The part where huge projects can get a little difficult to manage particularly when privacy is used.

They will charge you for more seats than you bought

1.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: They have the potential to be a fine platform, but have opted to steal from their customers rather than just being good and building customer loyalty.

Pros:

It's an organization tool that does just about the same stuff as any other project management tool.

Cons:

I signed up for the premium account. TWICE, they changed my account to have more seats than what I purchased. The first time, they told me they would make up for it by giving me several months free. We changed my account back to the two-seat minimum, and I thought things would be fine. But then they changed my account back to five seats without any notice and overcharged me again. Instead of paying around $22, I was charged $74. Again, they refused to refund any money even though they are the ones who changed my account. Since then, I have found out that this is a common practice. I actually got lucky in that I was only charged for three extra seats instead of five or 15!

Great project management software

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: Overall, Asana meets all of our needs and the large portion of our wants.

Pros:

I love being able to keep everyone on the same page. When implementing our software product, Asana lets each person on the project know what is expected of them and what is expected of others. There is no "I thought you were doing that" or "what are we waiting on". Asana eliminated this. I also love being able to build templates that I can utilize again and again. I don't have to start over each time.

Cons:

I wish that Asana had the ability to segment users more. I want complete control over who can comment, who can post, who can complete task, etc. Asana does some of this but it needs to be more granular.

Asana helps me organize my business and my life

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Pros:

I can track my client work, my invoicing, my personal projects - basically my entire life is organized by using Asana. And whenever I have new ideas for projects or my business, rather than impulsively jumping on it, I can write it down and revisit it later to rethink if it's worth pursuing.

Cons:

The only thing I dislike about Asana (which is really not that big of a deal) is that I wish there was a feature to add multiple people to a new task.

Asana Stands Out as an Effective Project Management Tool

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Comments: My overall experience with Asana has been "par excellence", as the French would put it. What I like most about Asana as a project management tool is its versatility in creating tasks and projects, setting deadlines, and organizing work with subtasks. Additionally, I’m impressed by its mobile app, which allows me to monitor and manage tasks right at my fingertips. As someone who is constantly on the go, this feature is invaluable, providing real-time updates and enabling me to stay on top of my projects no matter where I am.

Pros:

Creating tasks and projects, setting deadlines, and adding subtasks.

Cons:

There is not enough integrations with other software.

My Brain Now Functions in an Asana View

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: I love Asana, and am a HUGE advocate for it. I am a huge fanatic when it comes to organizing in a way that communicates everything necessary to help understand where something is in a process, without needing to be physically asked, and Asana makes this more than possible. I was introduced to Asana in a workplace, and now utilize it in my own personal life.

Pros:

Simply that it exists. The ability to communicate all statuses, efforts, and steps in a process between all departments without needing to literally communicate, is incredible. Including the ability to template processes, and tasks.

Cons:

I would appreciate it if it was easier to make sections templated easier. I am sure there may be a way to do that, but I do not know how.

Straightforward Project Management App

Comments: I've used it for years, and I currently use it to manage projects for our clients. We invite our clients into their project so they can view the progress.

Cons:

The pricing tiers escalate you up to more expensive plans quickly as your business grows.

Rewarding and productive task management!

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: Really enjoyable experience, it's fun to use and I feel rewarded when doing so!

Pros:

The UI and UX are really nice and I like being able to organise all my tasks into projects and colour code them.

Cons:

I think the free version is a little limited for single person business owners. I would upgrade once I scale and have multiple team members, but the free version is all I can work with at the moment. It would be really helpful to have some basic automations and project templates in this version.

Oasis for the Cluttered Mind

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I have a lot of plans for my business and have had people come in and out to help me with those plans, mainly virtual assistants. Those VA's have been in the country and out, and Asana has been easy for everyone to work with and communicate via. I have had people suggest other things like Trello, which I have used and have no problems with, but I like the depth and continued simplicity of Asana and have not plans to switch.

Pros:

It'a tough to pick one thing that I love, but I think if I had to, it's the fact that when I have an annoying to-do list in my head that I know I am going to want to share with a team member or some other contractor I will bring on to help me with something in my business, I can go to Asana to create a list, do a brain dump and add dates and other info as I come up with them. No need to look for paper (as much as I like to write things by hand) and no need to worry about leaving that written list at home the one time I am away from it and want to add to it. Asana is easy to use and has lots of stuff that gets me by as a free user. When I am ready to take on the expense, it will open up even more great features.

Cons:

The expense. It's not bad for one person, but I have a little team that I intend to expand. The fee for Asana is per user. It's worth it. I am sure of that, but as a semi-solopreneur who has a few people to help me from time to time and who wants to solidify things so those team members are a definite fixture, I won't look to take on the expense until I know my business can pay for it.

Alternatives Considered: Trello

Reasons for Switching to Asana: More features to help capture a million thoughts running around my brain that I needed to organize and share with others who are not local to me.

Excellent tool for project/task/list management

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I have been using Asana for both work and personal projects (two separate accounts) for about 6 years now, and I am obsessed. I am constantly thinking of things I need to do for work or personal ideas and business ideas, and it's great for capturing them and organizing them in one place. I make it a habit to cycle through all of my projects once per week to review upcoming deadlines and update the status of projects (sometimes more often). There are some coworkers in other departments who use Asana heavily, but I have not been able to convince my group to use it for collaboration. I would love to get them away from using email, Word docs, and spreadsheets for project collaboration.

Pros:

Everything! However, I like that it is easy to quickly add tasks and projects, especially from the mobile app. I rarely miss deadlines or forget things since I started using it. It is a great "container" for all of your project steps, thoughts, notes, ideas, etc. My life would probably fall apart without it! I use the search feature constantly as well.

Cons:

There isn't an easy way (that I know of) to see all items across multiple projects that are due on the same day or week. It's possible that I'm not using it the way the folks at Asana intended.

My Asana Review (Brasilcap)

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: I am happy with it overall, but then i am a heavy user. I see that other team members take sometime to assimilate its potential and value

Pros:

Once you know where to go, it's show great use on promoting transparency and team collaboration

Cons:

Lack of reports Scrum/Kanban likes. A Query engine would be superb. I use these at Jira and helps a lot. Also some constraints vallidation, configuration/confirmation os necessary fields, things like that

Alternatives Considered: Jira and Pipefy

Reasons for Choosing Asana: Asana is more lightweight and has better communication tools

Switched From: VivifyScrum

Reasons for Switching to Asana: Jira was our first option, but as we were all begninning our Digital Transformation Journey at the Time. It bacame a concensus that JIRA was way to complex for that moment not to mention it was double the price too. Asana was ease to use right from the start, with little configuration, and it proved so after a while using it

Practical way to manage my daily task and project

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Overall, Asana is one of the most complete Project Management that i ever tried and use. Increasing our effectiveness in planning and tracking a project progress is never a issue with Asana. Deploying a complex project is possible with the help of Kanban method to help us plan the project carefully with visual aid.

Pros:

I really like that my team and I can collaborate on project and task easily. The Gantt chart let us to planning a project effectively as we can visualized the activities that related with the project. Resource space has unlimited size that we can add to the project and view which project is dependable or assign to the resource.

Cons:

There are not much downside that i can thinking while operating this software. The feature is well build and really responsive with my need in completing my project and daily task. The only thing that i think that they should improve is the video tutorial, there are some of the feature that not covered by the video tutorial.

Empower a manager to take on larger teams and projects

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: I could not run my business without ASANA. We develop software for a living. It is the SINGLE most important tool that we own. I would go back to coding in notepad. If it would allow us to keep ASANA.

Pros:

Asana provides a solid interface that empowers me as a manager to manage more team members more efficiently. This software provides time-saving resources by allowing stakeholders to get their own project updates and track the project's progress without interrupting the team executing the project. It provides: - Many ways to plan and manage - A clear view of the task load on each team member - Time planning to keep projects on deadline

Cons:

Asana provides so many ways of doing things that every person who sets up a project can do so in a unique way. This requires a clear organizational strategy from the start. The issue: - Multiple ways of achieving the same outcome - Confusion on how to work within different project structure approaches Important to note: These cons are primarily a result of poor onboarding. They are not the fault of the software or ASANA directly. My encouragement is for anyone implementing this project to plan and test projects with a very small number of team members. Only once the entire organization can be trained to create and manage projects according to your prescribed workflow should the software be opened up. You must engage with ASANA's guides early. As well as plan and provide training every employee to see the best ASANA experience.

Alternatives Considered: Basecamp and monday.com

Reasons for Choosing Asana: Our previous software for project management had an extremely limited tool set.

Switched From: Basecamp

Reasons for Switching to Asana: The freemium approach made it easy to try. Once we dove into it and built several projects. We saw success. It was a no-brainer to continue forward with the product. We onboarded everyone very quickly (too quickly) and saw immediate gains in productivity and morale. There is much satisfaction to be gained by checking of tasks and seeing how much you accomplished each week.

Asana Changed my Entire Approach to Work

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: This software helped me keep my job. With numerous complex tasks and projects and rapidly changing priorities, follow-up tasks were slipping through the cracks. Once I started using Asana, I felt confident to take on the most complex projects and job duties without becoming overwhelmed.

Pros:

It's easy to jump right in and start working with this, even while you are still learning the interface. It does take a little time to get to know the program so that you know how you want to organize your tasks and projects. I was using lists and spreadsheets to manage my projects previously and some aspects were slipping through the cracks. It allows for easy use by multiple team members without overlap or stepping on each others work. It has completely changed my ability to manage every detail of a project and has substantial flexibility to adapt it as you see fit. There are so many things I like about this software that it's hard to name just one thing that I like most.

Cons:

I would like to be able to see the Project that a subtask is part of in the "My Tasks" view instead of that field being blank. It may be due to using the free version that this is not available. I also can't view the priorities in the "My Tasks" view, but I worked around that by creating "tags" with colored numbers, red 1, yellow 2, green 3, etc.

Alternatives Considered: Smartsheet

Reasons for Switching to Asana: Our budget was tight, so Asana's long-term free option (as opposed to a short trial) put it over the top. It has the features we need to complete projects within our small team.

Asana is my choice

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: We use Asana to plan and manage online course developments at a private university.

Pros:

Asana is fairly easy to learn and is effective for project management without getting too deep in the weeds of project management. Oh, you can get deep in the PM weeds if you prefer with Asana, but going deep isn't necessary for the product to work well.

Cons:

I'd like to see better note-keeping and note-finding abilities. It's sometimes important to document conversations and occurrences that happen outside the digital realm.

Alternatives Considered: monday.com

Reasons for Choosing Asana: Jira was a terrible UX. I had used Asana in another job and thought it would be better for our purposes. Indeed, it is!

Reasons for Switching to Asana: We liked the customization ability, UX, and ease of use of Asana.

An easy to use PM app

4.0 last year

Comments: One of the big challenges in by work is getting all the stakeholders on projects to work on common platforms. I've used Asada as the go-to app for all projects, with integration with Google Workspace and Slack in particular really useful. It helps to plan and review progress on projects, and allows you to run projects in either agile or waterfall formats. It's also not too complicated, there are various subecription levels that give you access to the features that you need

Pros:

Quick and easy to setupAllows collaboration with clients and partners Integrates well with Google Workspaces, Slack etc

Cons:

I've become so used to Asana that there's nothing the bugs me now. It's perfectly suited to planning and running technical projects

Alternatives Considered: Smartsheet

Reasons for Choosing Asana: I preferred the integration options with Asana, and Basecamp became too expensive

Flexible tool, good product / R&D focus. Bad sales experience

4.0 last year

Comments: Buyer beware of any commitments made by the sales team.

Pros:

Asana was selected in our organization because it provides a good balance between out of the box capability and is configurable without death by configuration. For daily task management, it has been a big hit with our team, with multiple additional departments requesting access early in the roll-out plan to manage their daily work. For our projects, it improved visibility of progress and has contributed to a better defined / more predictable project plan and outcomes. We've also had several positive interactions with the product team by participating in early releases on new features that were important to our company.

Cons:

We've had a few challenges:* Translating our project management templates into Asana required significant rework to find the right level of task detail without micro managing every activity* There is no short unique identifier on individual tasks. It makes it hard to talk about the work that is captured in Asana in our development process.* Account team is not stable and only cares about upsell. We've worked with several people already in the first year+ of use. With each replacement, an intro call is arranged to talk about what we as the customer can do for them in terms of buying more licenses. * Pricing was not transparent with a bit of bait and switch. Volume discount provided to win our business was removed in the first renewal. Take it or leave it attitude from account rep leaves us with an incredibly bad taste in our mouth.

Alternatives Considered: Jira and Teamwork.com

Reasons for Choosing Asana: Previous tool reached end of life

Reasons for Switching to Asana: Jira - Needed add-ons to achieve portfolio review capability that we neededTeamwork - Enterprise security and SLA was lacking

Task Management

5.0 8 months ago

Comments: generally once you get to grips with creating tasks and then subtasks and dependants its extremely powerful and great for project management once you set the project up!

Pros:

simple to use and setup tasks quickly, ad job notes and files, the ability to send a task from other platforms - Slack, Email etc

Cons:

start and end dates are the options for the tasks this doesn't always coincide for large jobs where you want to specify a day to do the job within that period without using a sub-task within the task. with this it sits in your overdue tasks when in reality its not always overdue if its a task for multiple days.

Alternatives Considered: Trello

Reasons for Choosing Asana: combination of reasons but the main one was to condense the workflow into a single management tool that did everything in one place to save duplication of task HR

Switched From: Jira and Trello

Reasons for Switching to Asana: cost and did what we wanted to do all in a single application

Accuracy for teams!

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Asana has helped me help my clients in increasing efficiency and establishing an understanding between multiple business areas.

Pros:

Asana has a number of templates and various different ways to manage and execute projects of different natures. For example, I use and always suggest to my clients that they use a weekly meeting templates where the sections match the various business operations such as marketing, operations, accounts, warehouse, etc. This allows items for discussion to be addressed in the weekly meeting and then allocated to the projects and individuals for execution. It's great for collaborating and ensuring that everyone in a team nails their dealings.

Cons:

I do find it a bit pricey for smaller businesses, especially when handling multiple clients/projects from a single account and each project needs to be private. It's too expensive for freelancers or small agencies.

Alternatives Considered: Trello and monday.com

Reasons for Switching to Asana: I had previously worked in Asana so it was easy for me to grasp. I also need to train my clients how to use it so it is imperative that I have a thorough understanding of the products I implement for them.

Long time user

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: I've been using Asana for years- I think starting in 2010 or 11. I've used it so long that many of my accounts started as the free version and I've watched them slowly and effectively roll out added, useful, functionality without hassle or interruption. I've introduced over 10 nonprofit organizations to using Asana, and everyone has loved it.

Pros:

Easy to learn, attractive and simple interfaces, easy to make it your daily home base. Great for both new and experienced computer users. I love that you can have task/project-related convos and attachments. This is excellent if you are like me and frequently need to show people where they made decisions in the past in an easy way. I love that events can be recurring on almost every pattern I've ever thought of. I use it for grants tracking, so I can assign out pieces to different team members and easily gather pieces back to me. I love that I can hyperlink to previous years notes, attachments, etc. for easy reference, which is really helpful with donors. I also use it to plan editorial pieces, social media, communications campaigns, nonprofit programs, board meetings, household tasks and chores, etc. Previosuly I used it for large books/projects to break large academic projects into smaller pieces. I've used it with large and small groups aged 18-67. I've set it up for over 10 orgs/groups and it is fast and easy. Everyone loves how easy it is to just start using it. Great email functionality and it has a ton of add-ins you can use to link to other software (like time tracking, invoicing, etc.) I LOVE ASANA.

Cons:

I love their free version with a firey passion, but once downside is as they have grown, the free version has lost some searching/reporting capability. However, using their paid product gets you everything you could want. So if you are piloting the free version to get a sense, there is a lot more out there.

Easiest Way to Manage Your Team Work and Tasks Handling

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: We have many promoting enactments spread over different time spans and over numerous brands we own. Having the option to arrange the entirety of this successfully and keep everybody on time has been a huge assistance and has spared us endless long stretches of time. We utilize this apparatus day by day to keep everybody on target, and I was unable to be more joyful with the outcomes. We have seen an improvement in announcing guidelines since we began utilizing Asana. Colleagues are straightforward and it is anything but difficult to see everything and help those that are having difficulties finishing ventures.

Pros:

It's anything but difficult to actualize and to installed new clients. The interface is alluring and instinctive. New highlights are showing up at regular intervals - the as of late included Portfolio/Workload include is splendid. Presently I get the Gantts I have to screen my group's remaining task at hand and our numerous undertakings. Incredible labeling and search capacities make it exceptionally easy to monitor our horde promoting enactments and all their related expectations. Including subtasks and including teammates errands makes it extremely simple to monitor who needs to do what and by when. Different perspectives like records, schedules, and kanban sheets make it open to everybody in the group who thinks and cycles data in an unexpected way. The UX is perfect and basic, and the 'my undertakings' and 'inbox' highlights help us all monitor what's going on in our allocated zones.

Cons:

The main con I have is that there is fairly a lofty expectation to absorb information for a portion of the further developed highlights, and there's some genuine reasoning and truly difficult work needed to get everything spread out and composed in the device and afterward get everybody onboarded. Be that as it may, I think this is likely going to be the situation with any group embracing a task the executives instrument. Despite the fact that it gives the choice to make sure about archives and information from altering by empowering the remark just element, it doesn't limit survey of the information of which it is a component they can add to ensure there is choice on who can see information among the colleagues.

Asana reduces the working hours that we can focus on new ways to achieve our work success.

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: This program has taught me to be much more professional and stand out in my area of work due to the wide variety of options that this program offers to educate my administration and marketing of the company's products, this program has it all and every time I we execute we find new ways to be effective and accurate in our work, Asana reduces the working hours that we can focus on new ways to achieve our work success, since this program is a tool that notably trains the skills of each of its users, the particularity with which new projects can be planned for my work department are great and the results are seen in a very short time.

Pros:

It is incredible the multiple ways in which this program can help me to continue with the development and management of my work, Asana works like a muscle that we constantly exercise to be much more efficient in my work and faster when carrying out all our activities. this software has taught us to be much more orderly and have a much more solid work infrastructure, and on the other hand this program this program has in its main tasks to expand the image of the company in different media on the web, it will work a marketing of quality to find new opportunities to increase sales and working relationships, Asana has surprised us for a long time with the best tools that a company with high ambitions and new objects needs, this software has the technology to simplify the flow and upload of my work at all times for the comfort of each of its users.

Cons:

One of the things that complicates the experience with this program is how complex it can be to manipulate files that were built from scratch, the simplest parameters such as sharing the document could be overwhelmed, the interface does not simplify these processes and bothers us a bit, as it should be a relatively easy development for this software, we are hopeful that this small but annoying detail can be improved and transformed in future updates of the program as we generally want to continue to play with the program.

Great overall,it keeps me and my team organized helps to manage my projects better.

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall, Asana is a great option for individuals or teams looking for a powerful project management tool that allows for collaboration, task prioritization, and multiple views.
