About Dayforce HCM
A cloud-based HCM platform that brings together payroll, time and attendance, and HR.
Ease of setup and onboarding. Integration in all areas of the product.
The Customer Service is really poor. I have been asking for this report that I used with the system that I used with the system I had used prior to Ceridian Dayforce.

Simple and easy
Comments: Overall I was very satisfied with the experience I had with dayforce.
Pros:
What I liked most is the easy way it kept track of my work hours and when combined with day force daily pay, I always had access to funds if I really needed to.
Cons:
When dayforce has system updates, you typically are unable to day anything on the program usually for a few hours.
Dayforce- Helps all your People Needs
Pros:
Dayforce has all the solutions you need to manage your workforce and keep them engaged. From the core services such as payroll and benefits, to a slew of talent modules to help with recruiting, onboarding, and much more.
Cons:
Dayforce can be very technical if you want to keep things customized to your company. So having someone on the technical side in your company, managing and maintain configurations may be needed.
Dayforce Review
Comments: It's been ok. It does what it needs to do.
Pros:
The ACA reporting and benefits management.
Cons:
Not very user friendly on the employee side.
Does the job
Comments: Generally positive. It's niche for certain industries, US or Canada are great.
Pros:
Effective and customizable US timetracking, labor cost features, balance tracking, and payroll processing.
Cons:
Recruiting/Candidate functions are clunky and not fully integrated in a meaningful way. Forms/workflows require a lot of expertise and trial/error. Majority countries in APAC are not 'native' payroll engines, so there's a lot of rules and parameters, not a lot of flexibility or automation without some out-of-system workarounds.
Good product with a promising future.
Comments: Overall positive experience with Dayforce. The platform allows us to configure changes as needed without the ability to rely on Dayforce support. Dayforce Tax could use some improvement.
Pros:
The ability to configure changes within the application for our organization.
Cons:
Dayforce Tax Services does a poor job of partnering with clients. The system does not naturally respect tax jurisdiction reciprocity rules.
HR Manager
Comments: Overall I enjoy Dayforce, it makes daily HR stuff easier
Pros:
The ease of use and constant updating to make the system better. they have a great conference with great sessions that help you level up your Dayforce knowledge and skills
Cons:
My frustrations don't really have anything to do with Dayforce program itself. More just keeping myself updated with changes and scope.
Dayforce Review
Comments: Overall Dayforce is a user-friendly system and helps maintain accurate and up to date information.
Pros:
Dayforce makes it easy to maintain accurate employee information. It also provides easy avenues of two-way communication between the company and its employees.
Cons:
There is still some functionality that it is missing, though they are constantly working to improve in those areas.
Great digital alternative to time tracking
Comments: Overall Dayforce has been great for us to allow everything to be easily accessed and much more organized. I'd highly recommend this to anyone that is looking to replace tedious paperwork with a digital alternative
Pros:
Dayforce allowed our company to put timesheets and other information in a digital environment and allow us to rely less on paper and keep everything more organized.
Cons:
Absence of leave tracking such as vacation could be improved, allow end users to customize different options for sick leave, bereavement etc.
Dayforce HCM user for 4 months now!
Pros:
The thing I like best about Dayforce HCM is that it is all on one platform. We came from a world of uploading and downloading many times to get the information where we needed it and in the format we needed it. This has saved us 1.5 days every other week in processing time! I was also very impressed with the CEO at how intimately he knows the system and can answer any question about it. You don't find that very often in CEO's, especially for a company the size of Ceridian. He's a very friendly person as well!
Cons:
We find the adhoc reporting a little difficult. We are accountants and not very familiar with SQL programming, and SQL is needed sometimes to write expressions in the adhoc reporting. We are still pretty new to the system, so maybe this is something that will come with time. The customer service could use a boost as well. Sometimes we feel the time frame for our tickets to be addresses/completed are a little long.
Friendly app
Comments: Easy to use. It is a friendly app for everyone
Pros:
It is an incredible app to control my working hours. See pay payment, ask for vacation
Cons:
App version show small details in comparison with webpage.
One of the most advanced HRIS platforms
Comments: I like that it works with Microsoft Office and that we can connect it to other systems via several different application programming interfaces. Their most recent updates have been great, and I can't wait to try out the next things they've been hinting at.
Pros:
Dayforce HCM is used for new hire processing and health insurance enrollment. Our company processes three different payrolls for its different employee types (Union, Exempt, and Non-Exempt).
Cons:
There is a unique Employee Number for each worker. It combines the two into one cohesive whole while making reports. To properly divide them, I must always use the Text to Columns function in Excel. If they could be separated straight away, it would be great.

Dayforce HCM - 2023 (Walett)
Comments: Overall, my experience with Dayforce is pleasing. We have implemented workflows and added logics to streamline many daily functions.
Pros:
Dayforce HCM offers features which are in high demand for an efficient HR division. The various modules ensure essential data is reportable and readily available for compliance testing.
Cons:
The reporting module is complex and requires a high degree of IT knowledge. Topics are not aligned in statndard forms which creates frustrating events when building new reports.

Dayforce HCM Review
Comments: Dayforce HCM is definitely the most powerful payroll system that I have used in a long time. It is my top choice when it comes to Payroll and HCM providers.
Pros:
The implementation team was very knowledgeable and they listened to what we had and how we wanted to improve the new system. They were so easy to work with.
Cons:
Wishing that some of the fixed reports would be flexible and could add information that would save us time from having to vlookup different reports together.
Alternatives Considered:
Complete and comprehensive HRIS
Comments: It is overall very user friendly. I think Ceridian listens to their customers and is heading in the right direction.
Pros:
The integration with Microsoft O365 makes IT happy, while the thoughtfulness pleases HR and Finance staff.
Cons:
It should s starting to get pricey because of all the modules.
Dayforce HCM Review: A Comprehensive Solution
Comments: Overall Experience Review for Dayforce HCM: Dayforce HCM is a great HR software solution for businesses looking for a comprehensive solution. It has a wide range of features and is relatively easy to use. However, its cost and complexity may be a hindrance for some businesses.
Pros:
Dayforce HCM Positive Aspect Review: Dayforce HCM is an incredibly comprehensive HR software solution that provides a wide range of features to help streamline the HR process. It is user-friendly and offers great customer service.
Cons:
Dayforce HCM Negative Aspect Review: Dayforce HCM can be quite expensive and its learning curve can be steep. Some of the features can be a bit tricky to use and the interface can be a bit cluttered.
I appreciate how easy it is to commit payroll using Ceridian
Comments: It's aesthetically pleasing and uncluttered. Instantaneous and efficient payroll processing. I like that it always seeks for new and better features. Many of our company's manual processes have been eliminated thanks to Ceridan Dayforce.
Pros:
Dayforce streamlines our human resources, payroll, benefits, time tracking, recruiting, and onboarding processes, increasing productivity, profitability, and morale across the board.
Cons:
I didn't like the reporting since you couldn't change some of it and it was all in PDF format, but they've made great strides in that direction in the three years since we started working here. V2 reporting allows for more flexibility and personalization.
It centralizes all of our record-keeping
Comments: It consolidates our filing systems into a single location. Employees only need one login to enjoy the full range of benefits. Time may be tracked daily, and annual reviews and objectives can be modified with this system.
Pros:
The Dayforce platform allows for extensive customization. From scheduling to advancement to benefits to individual employee profiles. The centralization of these capabilities makes it easy for both the supervisor and the worker to track everything.
Cons:
The timesheet tool is just one example of a bit of a pain to navigate. It takes a lot of clicking around to get to the final tally of hours put in.
Dayforce Review
Pros:
The combination of time and attendance and payroll in one application is a game changer. It is one system that flows together. Being able to calculate payroll daily is also a big plus for my company. The system is pretty easy to understand from hire to retire.
Cons:
Although the process of getting help through customer service is great, there are obstacles with language barriers at times. Since Dayforce is global, their support teams are global. This has proven challenging at times with understanding what we are trying to accomplish.
Dayforce HCM Review
Comments: We have been able to become more paperless with Dayforce. For the most part, payroll processes correctly each pay period. Open Enrollment saved lots of time and paper and the employees seemed to really like the process. I think as we learn to use all of the functionality of the system, we will find more benefits and cost-savings. We are just disappointed that we did not get this information/recommendations from our implementation team. And the fact that modules that should have been live and working properly at the time of implementation are still not functional has been extremely frustrating. Our HR Admins are doing more work now, than they did before implementing Dayforce , where Attendance Management is concerned.
Pros:
The system has lots of flexibility and functionality - unfortunately our implementation did not go very well (we are still working on it over a year after going live) so I don't believe we are using the system to its full capacity. The user experience is really friendly. Our current employees and onboarding employees like the system.
Cons:
It seems that the implementation team wants to cut you off long before the system is running as expected. It's wonderful that Ceridian is working on so many great, new, cutting-edge options but our users (PR/HRAdmins, Managers) just want the current functionality to work properly. We are still submitting lots of tickets to support on a weekly basis and we have found the quality of support to be herky-jerky. Some of the reps are really good and others seem to just want to get the case off their plate without full resolution of the issue.

DayforceHCM - One Year After Implementation
Comments: Pros - Our previous system basically operated on a "point in time" basis; historical information was kept in hard copy in employee files. Reporting from the payroll system was difficult and in many cases required expensive custom reports to be written by the service provider. Approximately 65% of our employees do not have access to the company email account, consequently requests for vacation payments, time off requests, address changes, tax changes, bank account changes were sent to HR by the employee's manager. Employees monitor their own personal information in Dayforce such as salary, job title, etc. ; they have access to forms; managers have access to a multitude of reports to help them manage their workforce. The HR/Payroll team have the ability to provide executive reports almost instantaneously - time spent producing management reports has been significantly reduced. Company policies and agreements have been uploaded into Dayforce eliminating the need to produce hard copy documents - this includes handbooks, links to benefit websites, corporate forms (eg. Code of Conduct) which saves time and money - no hard copies required. Time spent in payroll has not reduced, however, quality has increased significantly - more time is spent in value added auditing rather than paper processing. Compliance with legislation is much easier to manage. Immeasurable ROI on employee satisfaction - we spend more time talking to our employees; Dayforce has facilitated a closer relationship between HR and employees - they feel like they are part of something big, because they can see it! HR and Payroll is no longer a mysterious machine somewhere in corporate office. The Ceridian learning tools are awesome - although we do not have all of the modules, providing access to the Ceridian University gives us opportunities to attend sessions and experience other activities that our organization may want to consider. Con: We do not have enough time to explore/implement the many features available. Overall Satusfaction: Dayforce provides everything we need! Recommendation to Other Buyers - Dayforce HCM is powerful and I highly recommend it for human resource management.
Review of Dayforce HCM
Comments: Having used Dayforce HCM for over 5 years, I can honestly say that it is an incredible piece of software that is ever-expanding, and the developers are always hard at work creating more modules. As opposed to previous systems where it required multiple file feeds internally, which would constantly update one place such as the HR record, but would not update in Payroll, Self Service, Benefits, or wouldn't update in any of them; with Dayforce however, there are no longer such data integrity issues, as it uses one database to house it all. It also also far easier on the eyes than some previous systems, and the ad-hoc reporting along with topic builder make creating custom reports quite easy (once you get the gist of how it works - there is a learning curve if you don't take the training - but if you're savvy, it's quite robust). The key with Dayforce is IMPLEMENTATION. If you are not diligent, clear, and thorough with the discovery stage and throughout implementation, it will haunt you down the road. Make a team, dedicate someone to nothing but testing and making sure you've got it doing what each team/department/manager/user needs it to do, just do something to make sure you are comfortable with the application and get what you need, otherwise you will spend a lot of time fixing issues with upset employees . Ceridian has grown their teams vastly, so the support reps can be hit and miss, but if you are techy and willing to learn the system, it is far superior to the others out there, and can be very low maintenance.
Pros:
One database means data is always consistent throughout modules. The flexibility within the configuration is unmatched. Beautiful appearance and very user-friendly.
Cons:
The switch from SilverLight to HTML has been slow and each release has been somewhat buggy initially after upgrading.

Dayforce - HR and Payroll software
Comments: It is a good product. It is cloud based which makes is highly desirable during the pandemic. Customer support is also very helpful.
Pros:
A lot of features are easy to adapt and there is less of a learning curve. The software can be used for a host of HR functions from payroll to recruitment, LMS, performance management and more.
Cons:
The system has a vast number of features and one needs to rely on a consultant for customization. Advanced knowledge of software engineering is necessary while creating reports or XML forms.
Similar to Other Solutions, Not Great for Learning Feature
Comments: Overall experience as an end user was positive on the HR/Payroll side as far as interface and being intuitive. Disappointed with some features and functionality being sold as available but then unavailable when asking to see them in action.
Pros:
I've used this from an end user perspective actively at one organization that chose this, and it was easy to use and navigate for the day to day HR, Payroll, Benefits, etc scope. The teams are fairly hands-on throughout implementation and they will do a lot to showcase wow-factors throughout the sales process until actual technical questions arise for some features.
Cons:
In one experience evaluating this product as an all-in-one offering, we needed to ensure the Learning piece of functionality would suit our needs. It did not. The Learning product was presented as in-house and with their own roadmap for features and development. Every demo of this piece of the product was high level and they avoided getting detailed with backend/LMS admin features and setup. After getting to try it hands-on, we found out why. Despite being told all file types and sizes could be stored in the repository, this was not the case. We also uncovered many functionalities that we'd been told were available were, in fact, not. The backend at the time we evaluated this solution for Learning was actually powered by Docebo and not Ceridian. That is strictly the Learning content repository, not the HR solution side, to be clear. At any rate, the Learning solution was definitely not what was described to us in features, functionality, and in general based on our needs analysis. If you evaluate this solution, get all the right teams and experts involved that will ask the right questions and ask for a hands-on walkthrough of the backend. The demeanor of our sales contacts after inquiring about the absence of much of what was promised changed abruptly. Subsequent interactions were very negative overall with portions of the team.
Dayforce HCM great for Payroll and HRIS
Comments: Dayforce works great under the right circumstances, but they still have some work to do to gain a bigger market share.
Pros:
Dayforce HCM (DF) is a great product for payroll, which is the company's core offering. They have incorporated other HRIS modules into DF, some of which work extremely well. Dayforce does a great job of using only one employee record for everything, so there are no internal interfaces, and all changes are made real time. The company keeps up to date on all regulatory changes, and is quick to roll out updates and fixes to the software, which are seamless because they happen in the cloud. Works great for both our US and Canadian populations.
Cons:
Dayforce does not process payroll in Mexico, so we cannot use it for the sole solution in North America. The reporting on data is sometimes difficult; the tool is pretty robust, but some common-sense reports are almost impossible to build, due to the cumbersome process of linking data fields together. This is getting better, but still lacking. Support response times are usually timely, but support personnel are not always knowledgeable enough to fix the issue right away. Any extra work on the product is always billable, and never cheap. Due to the design of the product, any changes to the company's organizational structure will almost certainly result in a long, expensive project to update the product.
