Google Maps review
Comments: I have been using Google Maps for navigation for a very long time. It is estimated to be more than 10 years. I have Google maps downloaded directly into the application of my mobile and I use it every time I go to places I have not been to before. The navigation is accurate and provides a large number of options that I can use. And it's all free.
Pros:
It's freeEasy to use even for beginnersPossibility to choose a route on foot, by car or by public transportMultilingual version of the applicationReviews of companiesAccurate navigation and calculation of the best routes
Cons:
So far I haven't found anything that bothers me about this application.
Great road maps!
Comments: Overall, I like Google Maps and recommends all of my friends to use since it is user-friendly.
Pros:
Google Maps is easy to use for finding my destination and provides road alerts. Also, I can add options not showing me the toll road. Google Maps provides me the most reliable road situations.
Cons:
Previously, I could choose from the suggested routes, but recently, it seems like it no longer shows the heavy traffic route, possibly based on its own decision. I have used Google Maps everyday, and it was based on my recent experience.
Bugs on Google Maps
Comments: Frustrating to the extent that I had to have another app or two to be sure I got to my destination in good time.
Pros:
Google maps is everywhere online, so it is readily accessible
Cons:
Several features on this app require revisiting by your Engineering Team at Google: 1) This app often sends the user to a street address adjacent to the destination street e.g. if your destination address was #2 Google street, it's more likely to send you to #2 Sesame Street which is adjacent to Google Street. I have encountered this bug on many occasions in central London. 2) Usually google maps shows red colours to indicate heavy traffic ahead. However, this is not always the case because, on some narrow streets where cars are parked on both sides of the street, this app would recognize the parked cars as part of the traffic jam. This is misleading to drivers. 3) The app also has a feature that enables the map to rotate in any direction very often in the course of a trip. For a driver with no local knowledge of the route, it causes momentary loss of direction of travel and confusion. The app should not oscillate when in use. 4) Google map applies what I would call avoidance trips. It quite often takes longer routes with or without traffic jam. This can be quite annoying especially if a driver had local knowledge of the route. 5) The seems to be very bad at connecting to major highways often sending drivers to a CLOSE or what you might call cul de sac or dead-end street.
Google Maps Review
Comments: Google Maps has been indispensable for me, offering accurate navigation, real-time traffic updates, and an intuitive interface. It's my go-to for both daily commutes and travel, thanks to its reliability and seamless integration with other Google services like Street View.
Pros:
What I like most about Google Maps is its comprehensive functionality. It offers real-time navigation, traffic updates, route optimization, and nearby recommendations. Features like location sharing, offline maps, and personalized suggestions make travel convenient and efficient, enhancing the overall user experience.
Cons:
Google Maps' occasional inaccuracies in live traffic updates can be frustrating. While generally reliable, these inaccuracies can lead to unexpected delays or longer routes than expected, impacting time-sensitive journeys. Improving the precision of live traffic data would enhance the overall user experience significantly.
Google Maps will get you there
Pros:
It is easy to use and accurate. I love the satellite view.
Cons:
Google Maps is so good I can't say anything negative.
Google Maps
Comments: It has been incredible and I intend to continue using it, especially since I am not good with memorizing roads.
Pros:
I love its accuracy and when in sought of directions, it will never mislead. In addition, If it doesn't provide the precise address, it directs you to the proximity of your destination,
Cons:
At times, it doesn't pinpoint the precise location, but considering its agility, one can overlook those minor errors.
Google maps will get you where you need to go fast!
Comments: Overall i would say google maps is one of the best maps and navigation applications out there, and if you want up to date information on your travel routes you cant pick a better application.
Pros:
I love how google maps always has the fastest routes to wherever im going and always updates me with traffic and road closures.
Cons:
The only thing i dont like about google maps is that it will sometimes try to recommend me with routes that take longer times and have tolls when the route im already taking is shorter and has no tolls.
Easier is Google Map
Comments: I use Google Map to find new places and to discover amazing places for travel touring and navigating directions
Pros:
Contains more places and provides accurate directions compared to other solutions and I like the mobile application notification when in new places and the recommendations it provides for places to visit
Cons:
I have not seen any issue with Google map yet, In case I do, I will update my review
Is helping me save time by using the traffic estimator
Comments: I use the solution to navigate and estimate traffic
Pros:
Google map has all places listed the public places and I like the traffic estimator feature which estmates traffics from places and suggest me good routes
Cons:
Using the API of Google map is too expensive and I would like to see the prices being reduced a bit
Good tool for identifying new places
Comments: It has been good, I am using the solution to find new places and to read reviews
Pros:
It is OPEN and free to use for everyone, I like the Google map mobile app, easier and provides reviews of different places from real people
Cons:
Google maps are not often accurate enough especially when using the direction navigator
Time is $ in America 🇺🇸... Time is everything everywhere else
Comments: Solutions via business location adding to the correct longitude and latitude, it's critical to be correct to serve the short fused impatient millennial's.
Pros:
The drafts saving feature would be most important. However after two attempts 6 sentences 17 min each. Didn't save as drafts. Lost forever, I only hope to be incorrect. It was important feedback along with important time now for nothing LOST forever !
Cons:
Draft posts stating saved. Only to be not saved. Losing important time and contributions.
Amazing that such great software is free
Comments: Mapping locations of where our customers request trips to and from, where our drivers operate most and more within My Maps. Gaining an insight into Points of Interest through Street View without having to visit the location. I really enjoy using Google Maps within my work.
Pros:
I absolutely love the Google My Maps feature, it has really transformed my work. I had previously experimented with free trials of add-ons within Google Sheets to create maps with pinpoints of specific locations as required, but then I discovered the My Maps feature and it's brilliant. I love being able to upload a CSV of data to Google Maps, and then for it to create a map with all the points labelled, and even titled if I request it. It has transformed my work when we require a map of where business is being carried out, where customers request trips to and more. In addition, the Streetview feature has been hugely useful for me in improving the quality of our app, by being able to describe the layout of important points of interest without having to actually visit them.
Cons:
More complete streetview would be great, for example inside train stations and airports, where sometimes there are one-off photos, rather than a full pathway. Being alerted if photos are out-of-date would be great- sometimes locations look totally different now to have they did in the photo in streetview. In My Maps, it would be nice to be able to upload more data as sometimes I have to split my data in multiple CSV sheets for this, and also to be able to link two points together with a line or arrow would be great. It would also be nice to be able to change the colour of pins if there is more than one entry at the same location, rather than placing the pins atop each other.
Alternatives Considered:
A Comprehensive Navigation Tool with Some Room for Improvement
Comments: Overall, the pros of Google Maps significantly outweigh its cons. It's a robust and reliable tool for anyone who needs to navigate or explore, with a few areas that could benefit from improvements.
Pros:
Google Maps offers an impressive array of features that make it an essential tool for navigation and exploration. Its geographic data is highly accurate and up-to-date, reflecting changes in real-world geography and infrastructure quickly. The high-resolution satellite imagery and Street View features allow s to virtually explore locations around the world, providing some awesome features that other navigation apps lack.
Cons:
However, Google Maps is not without its flaws. While generally reliable, there can be occasional hiccups with the location tracking feature. Although it usually recalibrates quickly, this can cause minor inconveniences during navigation.Data consumption can also be a concern, especially when using more data-intensive features like Satellite View or Street View. Likewise, continued use of Google Maps, particularly with GPS tracking, can quickly drain a device's battery.
Endless Features with a Clean Interface
Pros:
I like Google Maps because they've mastered the art of providing lots of features without making their application difficult to use or junky. I prefer this over the Maps app that comes with my iPhone because it's much easier to edit my trip. If I don't want to take a certain bridge or highway, Google Maps can show me alternate routes and the additional time it would take in one tiny place on the screen. I also love the audio settings. I use the GPS even when I know exactly how to get somewhere so that I can have the other information that the app provides like traffic updates, crashes ahead, and alternate routes that might make more sense to take as traffic picks up. I can set the audio to "alerts only" so that I can hear my music without all of the turning instructions, just the traffic alerts. I've also noticed that Google Maps memorizes maps. When I lose signal on my phone, I don't lose the GPS because Google Maps has already saved my trip in its memory. As a new driver, that made me feel really safe and assured. Lastly, I discovered another feature that I use all the time now. I live near a huge outlet mall and it was always a hassle to know which door was closest to the store that I wanted to go into. But one day, I put a store in my GPS (not knowing it was in that outlet mall) and Google Maps actually took me to the best entrance for that specific store. I love Google Maps and I wouldn't use another GPS application.
Cons:
The only bad thing I can say about Google Maps is that it doesn't always know which direction I'm facing, which can be tricky. There's an arrow that follows along the path and shows you whether you're going in the same direction of the path or not. There were times when the arrow was pointing in a different direction than the path so, I made a U-Turn and later realized that I was actually going in the right direction before.
Like as a user. Leaving reviews has become a real pain.
Pros:
Good for finding restaurants, etc. with reasonable feedback. I use TripAdvisor for in-depth research. The killer advantages are the location, directions, up-to-date opening times and busy times, built up by tracking Android phones in and out of the businesses.
Cons:
I used to like the reminders of places I had been to leave feedback. Recently, the review entry window has been changed to provide updates and suggestions whilst you are typing in. Mostly these are not needed and a mild irritant. The real pain is that all these updates are now setting my typing entry point back to character one so the end of a word I am typing ends up as corruption at the start. This needs to be deleted then re-centering my input to complete the word. In one medium-sized review this happened over a dozen times. I will no longer leave reviews on Google Maps. The other problem is a lack of a support route. I Googled the problem 3 ways only to get sent to the interface for business owners! There IS an option to leave feedback about errors on Google's maps. I used this two months ago to highlight that the postcode for my street was now centred wrongly in the middle of a wood after being correctly placed for many years. The result of this has seen many tradesmen and delivery drivers calling from the business park on the other, main roads, side of the woods. This error has still not been corrected. I have moved to using my TomTom App for all route planning however Google Maps is still best for restaurants, hotels garages and tourist locations.
My Go-To App for Navigation and Travel Planning
Comments: Overall, my experience with Google Maps has been great. It's my go-to navigation app, and I highly recommend it to anyone who travels frequently or is simply looking for a reliable, user-friendly navigation tool.
Pros:
I absolutely love Google Maps and use it almost every day for navigation and travel planning. The app's user-friendly interface makes it easy to search for and find any location, and I appreciate the ETA feature which allows me to plan my trips ahead of time. One of my favorite features of Google Maps is the street view option. It's amazing to be able to see what a place looks like before actually going there, which creates a strong image in our minds and makes it easier to navigate once we arrive.Another feature that I absolutely love is "My Maps". This feature allows you to create your own customized map, complete with landmarks and routes, which is incredibly useful when planning a trip. I also love that you can share your map with others and collaborate with them on the same map.
Cons:
If I had to point out a drawback, it would be that there could be more integration with other users to alert about road issues beyond just traffic.
Feature-packed but not enough flexible
Comments: Google Maps is possibly the most precise and frequently updated navigation app that you can have on your phone. The fact that Google constantly "spies" on your movements, while it might be a nuisance in terms of privacy, is undoubtedly useful as it makes indications more relevant and easier to find. If you have visited sushi restaurants in the past and it's close to lunch time, you can expect the map to show sushi places if there are any in the neighborhood. Also, you can plan your journey on the PC and find the same route ready on your phone or car screen. If you have a business and use Google maps to provide directions to potential customers, they are likely to find them easy and get to you without getting lost!
Pros:
Google Maps has plenty of useful features that one can use to find his way and to set up indications for friends and customers. It interacts smoothly with webpages and with additional apps (e.g., music apps to listen while you are driving). Also it is cheap (free of charge) and frequently updated. The web-based version can show actual buildings, making it easy to locate one's destination.
Cons:
As with many Google products, this is not entirely customisable. Google wants to be in charge and you have to live with that if you want to use their services. E.g., when maps are broadcasted to one's car screen via Android Auto, the speed indicator disappears (otherwise you would see that most cars' speedometers are slightly biased upwards, something car manufacturers don't like you to know). Also, places highlighted on the map are a just reasonable trade-off between what you need and what Google needs to advertise. But overall, once you are aware of these limitations, the service you get is worth the effort.
Google Maps is the King of Mapping
Pros:
Google Maps is a great service that beats almost every other mapping service. I use it personally and for business: 1) It just works! Google maps are accurate and detailed, in most cases you can easily find what you are looking for. The voice navigation is mostly on point, though it can be a bit misguided at times. You can follow the 2) Business listings on Google Maps are a godsend, being able to find a business listing on Google Maps is much more intuitive than say Apple Maps. Also simply adding a location link from say Whatsapp usually gets the location on point 3) Maps API is good for developers. It is easy to build apps on top of Google Maps and you get instant access to the accuracy and depth of Maps, we have used it to plug into our applications that rely on mapping. 4) Offline functionality is very useful. Even if you do not have a connection, you can still use Google Maps to find your way around.
Cons:
My biggest frustration with Google Maps is when recalculating directions to a location, it always uses the main route, in many cases there are other routes that can be used but it seems it only can only handle 2 alternative routes not more than that.
Good accuracy, good features and tie-in
Comments: It's really functional and accurate. It feels more.. ironclad and I use it when I absolutely need to ensure I get to a place. I'm sure it has features that I don't use or don't use fully, but Waze is even more intuitive and is generally more useful and more fun for my purposes. That said, you can't go too bad with a free app, right? If Waze was shut down tomorrow I would not be at all worried, as Google Maps really is comparable.
Pros:
It's easy to use, has some useful tie ins with chrome and Gmail. It's very accurate getting me to the right place. You can see reviews for businesses immediately when entering their address. There's often a Google Street image, whether the address is business or residential. Depending on your industry, this can be helpful in finding the right spot. I only use it for business purposes when I have to go to courthouses in towns I've never visited.
Cons:
Contrasted with Waze, Google Maps often tells me an address is on the wrong side of the street and can have precision difficulties for the final part of a trip. It runs/responds a bit slower than Waze. I like Waze's "community" and having others warn about hazards. Waze is also much more fun, with funny special guest voices and vehicle icons etc. Goggle Maps is very good, these are just little gripes, which is why I've rated it 4 stars overall, I would rate Waze 5 stars due to these differences.
The Ultimate Navigation App
Comments: In conclusion, Google Maps is an excellent navigation app that offers accurate directions, real-time updates, and multiple modes of transportation. While there are some privacy concerns, the app's benefits far outweigh its drawbacks. With its rich information and integration with other apps, Google Maps is the ultimate navigation app for travelers.
Pros:
Accurate navigation: Google Maps provides precise directions and suggests the fastest routes based on real-time traffic data.Multiple modes of transportation: The app offers multiple modes of transportation such as walking, cycling, driving, public transport, and more.Rich information: Google Maps provides detailed information about businesses, landmarks, and popular tourist destinations, making it easy to explore new places.Real-time updates: The app provides real-time updates on traffic conditions, transit schedules, and even the estimated wait time at popular attractions.Integration with other apps: Google Maps can be integrated with other apps such as Uber, Lyft, and food delivery apps, making it easy to book a ride or order food.
Cons:
Battery drain: Using Google Maps for extended periods can drain your device's battery quickly.Privacy concerns: The app collects user data and location information, which can raise privacy concerns for some users.Limited offline usage: While the app does offer offline maps, the functionality is limited compared to its online counterpart.
It Makes Me Go Places
Comments: Google Maps surely has the Wow factor and it has been a joyride for me to use it in every situation when I have to be on the road. Overall, it has a great many benefits and the best thing is that Google keeps adding more interesting features to maps. I have used other applications and even Apple Maps but nothing beats Google Maps. It's the Leader. Thumbs up
Pros:
Google Maps is the best navigation tool with an interesting look. It has some very useful options such as directions for driving a car, bike, or even for walking on foot. Public Transportation is an added feature that helps to navigate through bus, metro, or train. Not only this but I particularly love that it gives much more than just navigation. I'm very happy to use Google Maps all the time to get information about nearby places. Be it Eating Places, Fuel Stations, Banks & ATMs, or Shopping Malls, every place is within your reach if you have Google Maps. You can stay on the web and use it or have the app installed for better controls. A satellite view is a great way to get an idea of the actual locations. You can pinpoint your location and share it with others. Check the traffic and plan your route accordingly. It saves your information and keeps it synched for future use.
Cons:
It has become my eyes as I blindly follow the directions through Google Maps and got off track a few times. The app asks you to turn the locations services on that consumes the phone's battery very fast.
Google Maps is My Goto Application for Business and Travel Research
Comments: I Love Google Maps and will continue using this great application.
Pros:
As an IT professional and frequent traveler I use Google Maps quite often. It's very helpful to find a business location and travel destination. It's very easy to track the pinpoint location and measure accurate distance. Google Maps also reach with business info like opening hours, contact number, email, website, etc. Google Maps user-generated photos, videos, and reviews you will be quite sure about the location you are looking for. Most of the websites and mobile apps nowadays uses Google Maps and its very easy to integrate with various application. And there is a huge community of Google Maps contributors called Local Guides who add, remove or edit places, answer questions, and facts check that ensures always fresh and updated information.
Cons:
Sometimes, Google maps mobile apps required combination of GPS and High-Speed Internate to track acquarate location, which is not very useful in remote location.
Director of human
Pros:
No one needs to ask anything, no one needs any help, if you want to reach the right place in the least time, then the platform you have chosen is Google map. In India there is a god named Vitthal. It has a similarity with Google map madhe maxya, and that is that both of them show direction when lost. He is God, so he works to show man the right path, knowledge, and Google map shows the path to a lost person, so I said that both are the same. Think this google map is a boon for those who earn money by working with swiggy, zomato. When they are given the responsibility to deliver the goods to the right place. And I doubt if they would have been able to make even half of what they are making in a day if they had to do it with someone else's help.
Cons:
Google map and everyone's relationship is very obvious. As the work is completed in minimum instructions along with time saving, fuel saving, we do not pay attention to the worms in it. But still I feel that, no error. This means that this software should be so accurate that the pits on the road and signals should also be indicated on it.
Very accurate tracking but voiceover needs improvement
Comments: Whenever I go to networking events, I use Google Maps to find the most efficient route for me. Google Maps also helps me decide if I want order products for my design company to see the distance the product would need to be shipped from. I am overall quite satisfied and will continue using it.
Pros:
I appreciate the location tracking feature the most with the blinking blue circle on the map. I just have to look at the map and know exactly where I am every second of my journey. I can see the relative locations (places nearby) in addition to the exact location so I hardly ever get lost. I also like the food recommendations of places near me so I can eat conveniently if needed.
Cons:
I definitely would like the voiceover function to be improved. When using the app I cannot easily find the button to enable voiceover and sometimes it doesn’t even play when I type in a location. I would like to enable voiceover within maps, not in settings. It would great if I could voice enable it Alexa. E.g. Hey, please turn on voiceover on Google Maps.
Essential for my business
Comments: Google Maps affords a sustainable way of doing business through avoiding unnecessary journeys for quick site appraisals.
Pros:
The Google Mapping software allows us to undertake initial site appraisals of the property we are advising on and also to review the design character of the street and the area in general.
Cons:
The imaging can be quite out of date for some addresses, particularly those that are more rural in character. I would appreciate a commitment to full refresh every two years.
