Badges include recognitions for best ease of use and best value on Capterra.Category fitOur research analysts must confirm that products are relevant and applicable to the respective categories.Review rating countProducts must have a minimum of 10 published review rating scores (i.e., for the rating field that the specific badge represents) within the submission period, which is defined as the 12 months before the badge eligibility cutoff date. As of 2025, the badge eligibility cutoff date is March 31 for all categories. Published reviewsThe “Best” badge’s applicable review rating count criteria will only consider published reviews. Reviews must pass our validation, quality, and non-duplication processes to be published.Recognition calculationSoftware companies and SaaS providers can become eligible for badges if their products meet the following criteria: A product reaches a minimum average review rating score of 4.5 out of 5 for published reviews within the 12 months before the badge eligibility cutoff date.A product’s average rating is in the top 25% of products with a 4.5 out of 5 average rating or above.Only the ratings within the review field that the specific badge represents will be considered. For example, the “Best Value” badge qualification will only consider the user ratings for the value-for-money rating field.The program aims to provide badges to the top 25% of qualified products in a given category for each “Best” badge recognition. However, as described above, the number of products that receive badges may fluctuate depending on the category fit.Our calculation includes the average score for a particular field (ease of use, value for money, etc.) and calculates the top 25% of all qualified products. ”Qualified” products meet the minimum 4.5 average rating threshold mentioned above. Since the cutoff is fixed, no more than the top 25% of products receive badges. If a given category has few qualifying products, badges may be given to fewer than the top 25%.
